American Airlines Announces Cashless Cabins

On June 1, American Airlines will go cashless onboard flights within the continental United States, as well as flights to and from Hawaii, Alaska, and Canada.  Effective Monday, for inflight purchases such as headsets, fresh meals, snacks and alcoholic beverages, American will accept American Express ® Cards and other major credit or debit cards only. 

American Airlines Announces Change in Ticketing of Surcharges

American has amended the filing of applicable fuel surcharges for most itineraries from a YQ charge to a Q charge effective May 19, 2009. This adjustment relates only to the means by which fuel surcharges are collected and does not impact the published fare amount.
