Speech Recognition Technology Makes Calling AA Easier


Calling American Airlines is now easier than ever. Now when you call, you will find enhanced features to help you keep tabs on your flight reservations.

Enhanced Voice Recognition Menu
Getting the information you need is only a "word" away! Our enhanced customer menu has added more intuitive keywords and features to allow you to simply ask for information rather than wait on a command menu. Then, the enhanced system will guide you through a couple of questions to get you to the right information quicker - saving you time. For example, if you want to get Flight Status information just say "Flight Info" or "Flight Information."

Here are a few examples of keywords the enhanced system will recognize at the main menu and various other points:

  • Remember Me
  • Baggage

*Please note that AAdvantage Mileage Balance, Mileage Credit and Elite Status are services available only to members with a valid US-based, 5-digit zip code listed in your AAdvantage account.

You don't have to remember these keywords - our helpful prompts will let you know what you can say and when. You can also say "help" when you need it.

Enhanced "Remember Me" Feature
Now, with our enhanced "Remember Me" technology, we have made it easier than ever to get information about your upcoming trips. Once you register your phone numbers, you will have a direct path to information about your reservations and flights when you call us. All of this information is available within a few seconds at the beginning of the call, so you can get your personal flight information and be on your way. New "Text Me" Feature!
Customers calling from an identifiable cell phone who have a flight departing in the next 23 hours are offered the option to have your flight information sent via text to your cell phone. To be offered this service, you must be either opted in to Remember Me or provide your AAdvantage number when prompted. We currently offer this feature to the following cell phone service providers**:

  • T-Mobile
  • Boost

  • US Cellular
  • CellularOne
