Under a marketing agreement with American Airlines, two independent airlines – Chautauqua Airlines and Trans States Airlines – operate flights with the AA code under the AmericanConnection brand name. Both airlines are providers of regional flying to and from St. Louis for American Airlines.
Together, the AmericanConnection carriers serve more than 40 destinations from St. Louis with approximately 200 flights a day.
Chautauqua Airlines, Inc.
Chautauqua Airlines is a wholly owned subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings, an airline holding company based in Indianapolis, Indiana.Chautauqua is a regional airline that operates scheduled passenger service to over 90 cities in 30 U.S. states and Canada with a fleet of more than 100 Embraer and Bombardier regional jets. The airline is the third largest Embraer regional jet operator in the world. The airline employs approximately 2,100 aviation professionals across its system.Chautauqua Airlines has been the recipient of the Federal Aviation Administration’s Certificate of Excellence Diamond Award every year since 1993, and was named Regional Airline of the Year by Regional Airline World in 2003, and by Air TransportWorld in 2004. Chautauqua Airlines was also awarded the Flight International Aviation Excellence Award in February of 2006.
As AmericanConnection, Chautauqua operates 82 flights daily with a fleet of 15 ERJ-140 regional jets, flying from St. Louis to 14 cities.
Trans States Airlines
Trans States Airlines, a large regional airline serving the Midwest and Eastern U.S., employs over 1,600 aviation professionals with service to 42 cities and more than 300 daily flights. Trans States is the recipient of the Federal Aviation Administration’s Certificate of Excellence Diamond Award eight years in a row.
As AmericanConnection, Trans States operates 118 flights daily between 23 cities in 13 Midwestern and Eastern states with a fleet of 19 ERJ-145 regional jets.
