The Reduced Mileage Award program offers Citi® / AAdvantage® cardmembers a discount when redeeming American Airlines AAdvantage® miles for one-way or round trip MileSAAver® awards to select destinations.

Discount

Depending on the Citi® / AAdvantage® card that you have, the MileSAAver® mileage discount is: 5,000 round trip / 2,500 one-way or 7,500 round trip / 3,750 one-way . Refer to your cardmember Directory of Services Guide.

Eligibility Requirement

This offer is for eligible Citi® / AAdvantage® cardmembers (not valid for Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands)

Travel

Offer valid for one-way and round trip MileSAAver® awards only.
Destinations are updated every other month
Offer valid on Premium and Main Cabin travel on American Airlines, American Eagle or the American Connection® carrier where applicable (codeshare flights are not allowed)

Booking

The Citi® / AAdvantage® card primary cardmember needs to book the flights with their miles.

Reduced Mileage Awards are redeemed over the phone or in person and service charges may apply. Fees are waived for AAdvantage® Executive Platinum members and AAirpass® customers. All such additional amounts are subject to change. Flights and availability are subject to change without notice.

To redeem Reduced Mileage Awards:

  1. Call American Airlines Reservations ($25 Award service charge per person),
  2. Book through an airport agent ($35 Award service charge per person) or
  3. Book through a ticket office ($20 Award service charge per person).

At no time may AAdvantage® mileage credit or travel awards be purchased, sold or bartered. Any such mileage or awards are void if transferred for cash or other considerations. Violators may be liable for damages, litigation and transaction costs. Use of award tickets that have been acquired by purchase or for any other consideration may result in the tickets being confiscated. If a trip has commenced, any continuing travel will be at the passenger's expense on a full-fare basis.

Passenger is responsible for any taxes, fees and charges associated with award travel. Award travel may include redemption of AAdvantage® miles earned through purchases of goods and services including purchases made by use of the Citi® / AAdvantage® card. When available, short term, promotional Reduced Mileage Awards may provide a lower cost for your trip than the use of these Reduced Mileage Awards.

A portion of travel may be on American Eagle or the American Connection® carrier. American Eagle is operated by American Eagle Airlines, Inc., Executive Airlines, Inc., SkyWest Airlines, Inc., Express Jet Airlines, Inc. or Republic Airlines Inc. American Connection® service is operated by Chautaugua Airlines, Inc.

American Airlines reserves the right to change AAdvantage® program rules, regulations, travel awards and special offers at any time without notice and to end the AAdvantage® program with six months notice. Any such changes may affect your ability to use the mileage awards or credits that you have accumulated. Members may not be able to obtain all offered awards at all times or use awards for all destinations or on all flights. AAdvantage® travel awards, mileage accrual and special offers are subject to government regulations. Unless specified, AAdvantage® miles earned through this promotion/offer do not count toward elite-status qualification or Million MilerSM status.
