Earn Miles

Earn miles when flying on LAN Airlines marketed and operated flights for travel on an eligible published fare ticket. Miles are also earned on LAN Airlines codeshare flights operated by oneworld carriers and oneworld affiliates.

Travel on LAN Airlines and affiliate airlines counts toward qualifying for AAdvantage elite status membership.

Flights to/from Cuba are not eligible for mileage accrual or redemption.

What is an eligible published fare ticket?

Eligible published fare tickets must be:

  1. Booked in a eligible booking code — find the fare booking code by looking for a single letter which immediately follows the flight number on your ticket. Next, compare this booking code against the airline's "Earn Miles" chart below to determine whether or not it is eligible to earn base miles and, at what percentage base miles will be accrued.
  2. On an eligible routing — check the airline's "Earn Miles" chart below to determine if any origin and destinations are excluded from earning base miles.

* LAN considers Easter Island (IPC) to be part of Chile for the purpose of earning miles. Therefore, mileage accrual for Economy Class travel to/from Easter Island (IPC) will be calculated according to the chart above as follows:

  • Travel between Santiago (SCL) and Easter Island (IPC) is considered "within Chile"
  • Travel between Lima (LIM) and Easter Island (IPC) is considered "within South America"
  • Travel between Papeete (PPT) and Easter Island (IPC) is considered "Other International"

Redeem AAdvantage Miles

Use AAdvantage miles to book award travel on LAN flights with one of the following award options:

  • oneworld & Other Airline Awards - Awards that allow you to travel to and from your desired destination using any combination of our airline participants.
  • Explorer Awards - Awards that allow you to travel to multiple destinations on a single award, including around-the-world journeys, using a combination of our oneworld alliance airlines and their affiliate airlines.

All awards are valid for one-way travel — unless otherwise specified — and may be combined to create round-trip or multi-city travel. These awards are MileSAAver awards and as such are subject to special seating limitations and to certain travel embargo dates.

There are no Travel Embargo Dates on LAN Airlines.

Please allow up to 30 days for AAdvantage mileage to automatically post to your account.

To request missing mileage credit for flights flown on LAN Airlines, complete an online mileage request form. When completing this form, choose LAN Airlines from the "Select Airline Flown" drop-down menu.
