Earn Miles

Earn miles when flying on US Airways (including US Airways Express and US Airways Shuttle) marketed and operated flights for travel on an eligible published fare ticket. Travel on US Airways Shuttle flights (between New York/LaGuardia and Boston or Washington D.C. as well as between Boston and Washington D.C.) will accrue a minimum of 500 miles. Miles are also earned on US Airways codeshare flights operated by American Airlines. Simply include your AAdvantage® number when making your reservation.

Travel on US Airways counts toward qualifying for AAdvantage elite status membership.

What is an eligible published fare ticket?

Eligible published fare tickets must be:

  1. Booked in a eligible booking code — find the fare booking code by looking for a single letter which immediately follows the flight number on your ticket. Next, compare this booking code against the airline's "Earn Miles" chart below to determine whether or not it is eligible to earn base miles and, at what percentage base miles will be accrued.
  2. On an eligible routing — check the airline's "Earn Miles" chart below to determine if any origin and destinations are excluded from earning base miles.

Flights on or after January 7, 2014, are eligible for the following:

Class of Service Purchased Fares Booked in: Base Miles (elite status qualifying) Class of Service Bonus Miles Elite Qualifying Points per Mile Earned
