American Airlines Internship Highlights

American is offering eight to 12-week internships and co-ops to college students in a variety of departments, check out some of the highlights as summarized by some of our previous interns:

Internship FAQ

Want to know more about the Internship program, check out the most common questions received from our previous interns:

Q. Where can I stay in the Dallas/Fort Worth area?

A. The Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex offers a variety of options for your stay while you are here for the summer. There are a lot of economical extended-stay hotels close to headquarters that have been used by our former interns. Most apartment complexes in the area offer short-term leases as well.

Q. When/where can I apply?

A. You can apply for the program using the Apply Now link found above. More details about when American will be visiting your university can be found using the calendar above.

Q. When does the program start?

A. The program will start late May or early June of every summer.

Q. How long is the internship program?

A. The Internship program is usually eight to 12 weeks, but can be extended into a semester long co-op as well.

Q. Who is eligible to be an intern?

A. The following criteria must be met for those interested in the program:

  1. Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  2. Successful completion of the sophomore year of an accredited college or university
  3. Must have successfully completed 60 hours toward an applicable bachelor degree (mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering)
  4. Eligibility to work in the United States
