Connections and Airport Transfers
|
Passengers arriving from the United States in Hong Kong will clear Immigration and Customs upon arrival in Hong Kong.
Los Angeles - Connecting passengers from Hong Kong will arrive at the Tom Bradley International Terminal, clear United States Immigration, collect all checked baggage and proceed to Customs for clearance.
Connecting passengers should proceed to the in-transit desk where Cathay Pacific and American Airlines personnel will assist in transferring baggage to connecting American Airlines flights. Passengers should then proceed to Terminal 3 or 4, depending on the onward destination, for connecting American Airlines flights. Passengers with boarding passes will go directly to the departure gate indicated on the flight information monitors throughout the American Airlines terminals.
Passengers without boarding passes should proceed to the American Airlines ticket counter to obtain a boarding pass in order to clear security and proceed to the departure gate.

Connecting passengers should proceed to the baggage recheck area where baggage will be transferred to connecting American Airlines flights. Passengers should then proceed to Terminal 8 or 9, depending on the onward destination, for American Airlines flights. Passengers with boarding passes will go directly to the departure gate indicated on the flight information monitors throughout the American Airlines terminals.
Passengers without boarding passes should proceed to the American Airlines ticket counter to obtain a boarding pass in order to clear security and proceed to the departure gate.

Passengers without boarding passes should go to the American Airlines ticket counter to obtain a boarding pass in order to clear security and proceed to the departure gate.

Checked Baggage and Boarding Passes
Check your baggage through to your final destination and obtain boarding passes for all American Airlines codeshare flights operated by Cathay Pacific.
Checked Bag Charges may apply to any flight operated by American Airlines.
Classes of Service Offered
Flights operated by Cathay Pacific offer First Class, Business Class, and Economy Class service on all transpacific flights. Cathay Pacific's flights between Hong Kong and Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Singapore, and Tokyo (Narita) offer either three class service, i.e. First, Business and Economy Classes, or two class service, i.e. Business and Economy Classes.
Pre-reserved Seats
Available from 180 days prior to departure. Pre-reserved seats are available for the following:
- All First Class passengers
- All Business Class passengers
- Economy Class passengers, who are Marco Polo members and families, oneworld top tier, i.e. Ruby, Emerald or Sapphire, family with children/infants, ticketed passengers and passengers who need special assistance.
Special Meals
Dietary meals are offered on flights operated by Cathay Pacific, provided meal service is offered. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for all special meal requests. (Please note: Kosher meals require 48 hours notice.)
