Westbound (to P.R.C.)
Passengers arriving from the United States, with their final destination being Shanghai, will clear Arrivals Immigration, collect their checked baggage, and clear Customs at Shanghai/Pudong Airport.
Passengers arriving from the United States, with the final destination to other cities within P.R.C., will clear Arrivals Immigration, collect their checked baggage, and clear Customs at Shanghai/Pudong Airport.
Once passengers exit the Customs area (Lower Level), they must proceed directly to the China Eastern Domestic Check-in area (Third Level - Island A). China Eastern Domestic Check in staff will issue boarding passes and baggage tags for the passenger's final destination.
Passengers must proceed directly to Security Check-point and to the China Eastern departure gate.
Eastbound (to U.S.A.)
Passengers originating their travel at Shanghai/Pudong Airport (to Los Angeles) must check in with China Eastern International Departure Check in staff (Third Level).
Passengers originating their travel at a city other than Shanghai must check in with China Eastern Check in staff. China Eastern staff will only be able to issue a boarding pass and baggage tag for the flight to Shanghai/Pudong (not beyond to the U.S.A.).
Upon arrival at Shanghai/Pudong, passengers must first claim their checked baggage at the China Eastern Domestic Arrivals baggage claim area (Lower Level).
Passengers must then personally deliver their checked baggage to the American Airlines check in counters (Third Level). American Airlines check in staff will issue boarding passes and baggage tags to the final destination.
NOTE: China Eastern will only accept CASH (in Chinese Yuan Renminbi - aka, RMB or CNY) for any additional service charges such as excess baggage, itinerary change, etc. U.S. Dollars and Credit Cards will not be accepted.
