International Documents and Taxes

U.S. citizens require a valid Passport for travel to Taiwan, Republic of China.
For additional information or requirements for other citizenships, check with the local consulate.
Departure Taxes
Currently there is no Departure Tax from Taiwan, however this may be subject to change.

Connections and Airport Transfers
|
Westbound
Passengers arriving from the United States will clear Immigration and Customs at their first point of entry into Taiwan.
Eastbound
Los Angeles - Passengers arriving from Taiwan will arrive at the Tom Bradley International Terminal, clear United States Immigration, collect all checked baggage and proceed to Customs for clearance.
Connecting passengers should proceed to the in-transit desk where EVA Air and American Airlines personnel will assist in transferring baggage to connecting American Airlines flights. Passengers should then proceed to Terminal 4 for connecting American Airlines flights. Passengers with boarding passes will go directly to the departure gate indicated on the flight information monitors throughout the American Airlines terminals.
Passengers without boarding passes should proceed to the American Airlines ticket counter to obtain a boarding pass in order to clear security and proceed to the departure gate.

San Francisco - Passengers arriving from Taiwan will arrive at the International Terminal, clear United States Immigration, collect all checked baggage and proceed to Customs for clearance.
Connecting passengers should proceed to the in-transit desk where EVA Air and American Airlines personnel will assist in transferring baggage to connecting American Airlines flights. Passengers should then proceed to Terminal 3 (North Terminal) for connecting American Airlines flights. Passengers with boarding passes will go directly to the departure gate indicated on the flight information monitors throughout the American Airlines terminals.
Passengers without boarding passes should proceed to the American Airlines ticket counter to obtain a boarding pass in order to clear security and proceed to the departure gate.

Seattle - Passengers arriving from Taiwan will arrive at the South Satellite Terminal, clear United States Immigration, collect all checked baggage and proceed to Customs for clearance.
Connecting passengers should proceed to the in-transit desk where EVA Air and American Airlines personnel will assist in transferring baggage to connecting American Airlines flights. Passengers should then proceed to the Main Terminal for connecting American Airlines flights. Passengers with boarding passes will go directly to the departure gate indicated on the flight information monitors throughout the American Airlines terminals.
Passengers without boarding passes should proceed to the American Airlines ticket counter to obtain a boarding pass in order to clear security and proceed to the departure gate.

Checked Baggage and Boarding Passes
Check your baggage through to your final destination and obtain boarding passes for all American Airlines codeshare flights operated by EVA Air.
Checked Bag Charges may apply to any flight operated by American Airlines.
Classes of Service Offered
Flights operated by EVA Air offer First Class, Business Class, Evergreen Deluxe and Economy Class service on all transpacific flights. Effective December 1, 2007, First Class will no longer be offered on transpacific flights.
Pre-reserved Seats
Available from 330 days prior to departure until 60 hours prior to departure in all classes on transpacific flights.
Pre-reserved Seats are available in any cabin on direct flights between Taipei and the USA.
Special Meals
Dietary meals are offered on flights operated by EVA Air, provided meal service is offered. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for all special meal requests

Smoking Policy
All flights operated by EVA Air are Non-Smoking.
Fleet
Flights operated by EVA Air include Boeing 747-400 and B777-300ER aircraft on all transpacific flights between the United States and Taipei.
Lounge Access
When traveling in First Class or Business Class on American Airlines codeshare flights operated by EVA Air, customers may use the Admirals Club® lounge or EVA Air Evergreen Club on the day of travel.

AAdvantage Information
|
Mileage Accrual
Earn miles on American Airlines codeshare flights operated by EVA Air. Your ticket must reflect an "AA" coded flight number. Just provide your AAdvantage number when you make your reservations or when you check in for your flight. View more information on rules for earning miles.
Elite Status Qualification
You can earn elite status qualifying miles, points, and segments that count toward AAdvantage Gold®, AAdvantage Platinum® and AAdvantage Executive Platinum® membership on American Airlines codeshare flights operated by EVA Air. Your ticket must reflect an "AA" coded flight number. View more information about elite status.
Award Redemption
You may not redeem mileage for travel on American Airlines codeshare flights operated by EVA Air. EVA Air is not a participant in the AAdvantage program.

Make reservations online via aa.com. To make changes to your American Airlines codeshare flight(s), call American Airlines Reservations at 1-800-433-7300 in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico) and Canada.
In Taiwan, call 8862-2542-7704.
