Due to a regulatory change by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, American Airlines has suspended its codeshare on flights operated by Gulf Air until further notice.
This regulatory change does not affect Gulf Air's codeshare on flights operated by American Airlines, which continues uninterrupted.

American Airlines codeshares on Gulf Air between the United States and Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.; Bahrain; Doha, Qatar; Kuwait, and Muscat, Oman. Services are operated via connections at London (Heathrow), Paris (Charles de Gaulle), and Frankfurt.

- U.S. Cities - Check in at the American Airlines ticket counter
International Gateways
- Abu Dhabi / Bahrain / Doha / Kuwait / Muscat - Check in at the Gulf Air ticket counter. American Airlines signs will be present at the Gulf Air check-in counters.

United States citizens require a valid Passport and Visa for travel to the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait; and Oman.

Departure Taxes
International Departure Tax from Abu Dhabi is 30 U.A.E. Dirham (approximately $8.50 USD).
International Departure Tax from Bahrain is 3 Bahrain Dinar (approximately $8.00 USD).
International Departure Tax from Doha is 30 Qatar Riyal (approximately $9.00 USD).
International Departure Tax from Kuwait is 2 Kuwaiti Dinar (approximately $7.00 USD).
International Departure Tax from Muscat is 5 Oman Rial (approximately $13.00 USD).
Passengers exempt from paying the tax include Transit passengers proceeding within 24 hours and infants under 2 years.

London/Heathrow
- American Airlines and Gulf Air operate from Terminal 3.
Eastbound - American Airlines staff will meet flights arriving from the
U.S.A. and will assist you with your connection to the American Airlines codeshare
flight operated by Gulf Air.
Westbound - You will be required to complete United States FAA / TSA mandated
security screening before boarding. So you do not miss your flight, please
proceed directly to the American Airlines Transfer Desk and see an agent before
proceeding to the departure gate. Staff at the American Airlines Transfer
Desk will conduct security screening and will then direct you to the departure
gate.
Important Note - Gatwick / Heathrow Airport Transfers - If your itinerary has a connection requiring a change-of-airports in London (for example, the inbound flight arrives at Gatwick but the connection departs from Heathrow), you must clear U.K. customs/immigration and personally transfer yourself and your baggage between airports.
Paris/Charles
de Gaulle - American Airlines operates from Aerogare / Terminal 2 (Hall A).
Gulf Air operates from Aerogare / Terminal 1.
Eastbound - American Airlines staff will meet flights arriving from the
U.S.A. and will assist you with your connection to the American Airlines codeshare
flight operated by Gulf Air.
Westbound - You will be required to complete United States FAA / TSA mandated
security screening before boarding. So you do not miss your flight, please
proceed directly to the American Airlines departure gate.
Frankfurt
- American Airlines and Gulf Air operate from the Terminal 1.
Eastbound - American Airlines staff will meet flights arriving from the
U.S.A. and will assist you with your connection to the American Airlines codeshare
flight operated by Gulf Air.
Westbound - You will be required to complete United States FAA / TSA mandated
security screening before boarding. So you do not miss your flight, please
proceed directly to the American Airlines departure gate.

Checked Baggage and Boarding Passes
Check baggage through to your final destination for American Airlines codeshare flights operated by Gulf Air.
Checked Bag Charges may apply to any flight operated by American Airlines.
Boarding passes for all American Airlines codeshare flights operated by Gulf Air must be obtained at the first point of check-in.
Classes of Service Offered
Flights operated by Gulf Air offer First Class, Business Class, and Economy Class.
Pre-reserved Seats
Pre-reserved seat assignments are available on all codeshare flights.
Special Meals
At least 24 hours notice is required for all special meal requests.
Smoking Policy
All flights operated by Gulf Air are Non-Smoking.

Flights operated by Gulf Air include Boeing 767-300 and Airbus A320, A330, and A340 Aircraft.

Mileage Accrual
Earn miles on American Airlines codeshare flights operated by Gulf Air. Your ticket must reflect an "AA" coded flight number. Just provide your AAdvantage number when you make your reservations or when you check in for your flight. View more information on rules for earning miles.
Elite Status Qualification
You can earn elite status qualifying miles, points, and segments that count toward AAdvantage Gold®, AAdvantage Platinum® and AAdvantage Executive Platinum® membership on American Airlines codeshare flights operated by Gulf Air.
