Check-In Locations and Information
U.S. Gateways
International Gateways
- Lima - Check in at the LAN Peru ticket counter in the Main Terminal.
- Santiago - Check in at the LAN Airlines ticket counter in the International Terminal.
- Buenos Aires (domestic airport Aeroparque Jorge Newbery) - check in with LAN Argentina
- All Other Cities - Check in at the LAN Airlines check-in counter.

U.S. citizens require a valid Passport for travel to Argentina, Chile, and Peru.

Chile - Arrival/Departure Taxes
Santiago Airport Arrival Tax
for U.S. citizens is approximately $131 USD.
Santiago Airport Departure Tax is $26 USD.
Peru - Departure Taxes
Lima International Departure tax is approximately $30 USD.
Lima Domestic Departure tax is approximately $6 USD.
Argentina - Departure Taxes
Departure tax is approximately $18.

Connections and Airport Transfers
Southbound
Passengers arriving from the United States
will clear Immigration and Customs in Santiago
or Lima, or Buenos Aires regardless of the
final destination.
Passengers holding boarding passes for connecting travel will continue directly to the departures gates.
Passengers without boarding passes for connecting flights will go to the LAN Airlines or LAN Peru counter or the "Connecting" counter.
Passengers connecting to interior points in Argentina will have to clear Immigrations and Customs at Buenos Aires, collect all bags and take
either a public bus or taxi to the domestic airport Aeroparque (located near downtown Buenos Aires)
Northbound
Passengers arriving at the domestic airport Aeroparque Jorge Newbery in Buenos Aires will collect all bags and take either a public
bus or taxi to the international airport Ezeiza and recheck their bags.
Passengers arriving in at their first point of entry into the United States will clear customs, collect all their baggage and proceed to Immigration for clearance.
Connecting passengers should proceed to the in-transit desk to re-check baggage to connecting American Airlines flights. Passengers with boarding passes will go directly to the departure gate indicated on the flight information monitors throughout the American Airlines terminals.
Passengers without boarding passes should proceed to the American Airlines ticket counter to obtain a boarding pass in order to clear security and proceed to the departure gate.
Los Angeles - Passengers from Chile or Peru will arrive at the Tom Bradley International Terminal.

Checked Baggage and Boarding Passes for Chile and Peru
Check your baggage through to your final destination and obtain boarding passes for all American Airlines codeshare flights operated by LAN Airlines or LAN Peru.
Checked Bag Charges may apply to any flight operated by American Airlines.
Checked Baggage and Boarding Passes for Argentina
Since bags will only be checked to Buenos Aires International airport, please check your baggage with Lan Argentina at the
domestic airport where you will receive your boarding pass to the final destination.

Classes of Service Offered
Flights operated by LAN Airlines offer Business Class and Economy Class service on all service between the United States and Chile and to Easter Island.
Flights operated by LAN Airlines offer Economy Class service on domestic flights within Chile, Peru and to Argentina.
Pre-reserved Seats
Available from 330 days prior to departure until 30 hours prior to departure.
For flights within Chile or Peru, pre-reserved seats are not permitted when your ticket is issued in the following booking classes: O, N, V, W, S or Q
Special Meals
Dietary meals are offered on flights operated by LAN Airlines, provided meal service is offered. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for all special meal requests
