American Airlines codeshares on Qantas transpacific flights between the United States and Australia and New Zealand, as well as Qantas flights within/between select destinations in Australia and New Zealand.

U.S. Gateways
- Los Angeles International - Check in at the Qantas check-in counter in the Tom Bradley International Terminal. Signs will direct you to a dedicated check-in counter for American Airlines codeshare customers. View map of Los Angeles LAX Airport.

- Honolulu - Check in at the Qantas check-in counter.
- All Other U.S. Cities - Check in at the American Airlines ticket counter.
International Gateways
- Sydney & Melbourne - Check in at the Qantas check-in counter. Signs will direct you to a dedicated check-in counter for American Airlines codeshare customers.
- Auckland - Check in at the Qantas check-in counter.
- All Other Australia/New Zealand Cities - Check in at the Qantas check-in counter.
International Documents and Taxes

U.S. citizens require a valid Passport and Electronic Visa for travel to Australia. This Electronic Visa may be acquired for a charge from American Airlines or Qantas.
Only a valid passport is required for U.S. citizens traveling to New Zealand. For additional information or requirements for other citizenships, check with the local consulate.
Departure Taxes
Departure Tax from Auckland is $20 New Zealand Dollars.
Departure Tax from Wellington, Christchurch is $25 NZD
Children ages 2-11 $10 NZD

Connections and Airport Transfers
|
Passengers arriving from the United States in Australia or New Zealand will clear Immigration and Customs at their first point of entry into Australia or New Zealand.
Los Angeles - Connecting passengers from Australia or New Zealand will arrive at the Tom Bradley International Terminal, clear United States Immigration, collect all checked baggage and proceed to Customs for clearance.
Connecting passengers should proceed to the in-transit desk where Qantas and American Airlines personnel will assist in transferring baggage to connecting American Airlines flights. Passengers should then proceed to Terminal 3 or 4, depending on the onward destination, for connecting American Airlines flights. Passengers with boarding passes will go directly to the departure gate indicated on the flight information monitors throughout the American Airlines terminals.
Passengers without boarding passes should proceed to the American Airlines ticket counter to obtain a boarding pass in order to clear security and proceed to the departure gate.

New York JFK - Connecting passengers from Australia will arrive in Terminal 7, clear United States Immigration, collect all checked baggage and proceed to Customs for clearance.
Connecting passengers should proceed to the baggage recheck area where baggage will be transferred to connecting American Airlines flights. Passengers should then proceed to Terminal 8 or 9, depending on the onward destination, for American Airlines flights Passengers with boarding passes will go directly to the departure gate indicated on the flight information monitors throughout the American Airlines terminals.
Passengers without boarding passes should proceed to the American Airlines ticket counter to obtain a boarding pass in order to clear security and proceed to the departure gate.

Checked Baggage and Boarding Passes
Check your baggage through to your final destination and obtain boarding passes for all American Airlines codeshare flights operated by Qantas.
Checked Bag Charges may apply to any flight operated by American Airlines.
Classes of Service Offered
Flights operated by Qantas offer First Class, Business Class, and Economy Class service on all transpacific flights.
Pre-reserved Seats
Available from 330 days prior to departure until 96 hours prior to departure in all classes on transpacific flights.
Pre-reserved seats are not available in any cabin on direct flights between Auckland and Brisbane, Sydney, Wellington, Christchurch or on direct flights between Sydney and Adelaide, Cairns, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, and Christchurch.
Special Meals
Dietary meals are offered on flights operated by Qantas, provided meal service is offered. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for all special meal requests. (Please note: Kosher meals require 36 hours notice.)

All flights operated by Qantas are Non-Smoking.

Flights operated by Qantas include Boeing 747 and 767 aircraft on all transpacific flights to/from Honolulu, Los Angeles and New York JFK and Boeing 747, 767, and 737 aircraft on flights within and between Australia and New Zealand.
