U.S. Gateways

International Documents and Taxes

For travel to Jordan, United States citizens require a passport (must be valid for at least six months beyond arrival) and an onward/return ticket with required documents for onward or return destination. Visas are required. Single-entry visas may be obtained on arrival at Queen Alia Airport in Amman for JOD10, payable in JOD only.

Departure Taxes
For U.S. citizens, none collected at the airport.

Connections and Airport Transfers

Eastbound
Passengers arriving from the United States will clear Immigration and Customs at their first point of entry in Jordan.

Westbound
Passengers arriving at their first point of entry into the United States will clear U.S. Customs, collect all checked baggage and proceed to Immigration for clearance. Passengers should then proceed to the baggage recheck area where baggage will be transferred to connecting American Airlines flights.

Passengers connecting to American Airlines should transfer to the American terminal. If holding a boarding pass for the connecting American flight, passengers should proceed directly to the departure gate indicated on the flight information monitors throughout the terminal. Passengers without boarding passes should proceed to the American Airlines check-in counter to obtain a boarding pass before clearing Security and proceeding to the departure gate.

Checked Baggage and Boarding Passes
Check your baggage through to your final destination and obtain boarding passes for all American Airlines codeshare flights operated by Royal Jordanian.
Checked Bag Charges may apply to any flight operated by American Airlines.

Classes of Service Offered
Flights operated by Royal Jordanian offer Business Class and Economy Class service on all international flights. Flights between Amman and Aqaba are Economy Class only.

Pre-reserved Seats
Pre-reserved seats are available 240 days in advance on flights operated by Royal Jordanian. Pre-reserved seat selection generally closes 36 hours before the flight but may close before that time.

Special Meals
Dietary meals are offered on flights operated by Royal Jordanian, provided meal service is offered. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for all special meal requests.
