We attend and support a significant number of Diverse Professional Organizations and Conferences. Our goal with each organization is to promote our brand, provide leadership opportunity for our people, and identify and recruit talent for our workforce. Employee Resource Groups

Organized and self-governed by employees, our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) represent a diverse range of affinities and interest within the American Airlines family. The ERGs provide value-added insight both professionally and personally. The groups have provided cultural guidance and identified ways to improve marketing efforts.

Segmented Marketing

American actively markets its services to diverse customers that include Women, African Americans, Hispanics, Gay & Lesbian & Transgender individuals.

Supplier Diversity

We recognize that investing in the growth of minority owned businesses is important for the communities where we live and work, and for building mutually beneficial business relationship. The Supplier Diversity Program actively seeks out minority owned, women-owned, and small businesses, providing them an opportunity to participate as suppliers to American and American Eagle.

Community Support

Supporting our community means more than just flying there. American has invested a significant amount of money and resources supporting hundreds of nonprofit organizations within major groups, plus smaller organizations ranging from youth ballet troupes to up-and-coming art museums to literary festivals. We encourage our employees to donate their time, talent, and financial resources to worthy causes in the communities we serve. Community Support falls within these groups:

AA recognizes its duty to reduce emissions, conserve resources and do our best to lessen our impact. American’s Fuel Smart program has benefitted both the environment and the company, conserving 95 millions gallons of fuel in 2006 and helping reduce our carbon dioxide emissions by almost 2 billion pounds. We are also involved in other initiatives designed to reduce environmental impact:
