The Change for Good Program
Change for Good® -- an innovative partnership between UNICEF (the United Nations Children's Fund) and the international airline industry -- was created in 1987 and is one of UNICEF's best known, and longest-running global fundraising campaigns. American Airlines has been the proud partner of the Change for Good program in the United States since 1994.

The concept is simple: travelers on international flights can donate their unused U.S. and foreign currency to benefit children. These contributions are used to provide lifesaving assistance to the developing world's poorest, most vulnerable children in over 150 countries where UNICEF has programs, including every country to which American Airlines flies.

About UNICEF
Unicef
AA Flight Attendant & Airline Ambassadors President Nancy Rivard in Ocra, Peru
UNICEF's mission is to save, protect, and improve children's lives. With child survival as its mantra, UNICEF is always ready to respond quickly and effectively wherever there are children in need. Operating in over 150 countries, UNICEF provides lifesaving medicine and immunizations, nutrition, clean water, HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention, and assistance in humanitarian emergencies.

UNICEF is made up of 7,000 dedicated UNICEF workers, 90% of whom live in the countries where UNICEF programs operate. These life-saving programs are funded entirely by voluntary contributions; UNICEF gets none of its funds from the United Nations budget. As responsible stewards for the world's vulnerable children, over 90% of UNICEF's income is used for program services to help children, with less than 10% used for administrative costs.

A globally recognized, respected and trusted brand, UNICEF is the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. And, in 2006, UNICEF received a four-star rating -- its third -- from Charity Navigator, America's largest independent evaluator of charities.
