Around The World Travel

Effective October 1, 2002, AA no longer pays base commission on tickets issued outside the United States (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and Canada for flights on itineraries originating within the territory of the United States (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands). VUSA and N1VISIT / N2VISIT fares are exempt from this policy.

Effective March 18, 2002, AA no longer pays base commission on tickets issued in the United States (including Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands) and Canada.

Exchanges And Refunds

For tickets exchanged on or after March 18, 2002, the new base commission structure applies to the new ticket but does not impact the original commission unless a refund is involved or a contracted commission does not apply to the new ticket. Agents are not entitled to a commission on refunded amounts.

Examples:

    Refundable Tickets

    1. New fare is lower:
      Original Ticket $300 USD
      Commission $15 USD (5 % capped)
      New Ticket $200 USD = 100 USD Refund
      Commission Recall $5 USD

    2. New fare is lower (but there is no commission recall):
      Original Ticket $600 USD
      Commission $20 USD (5 % capped)
      New Ticket $500 USD = 100 USD Refund
      Commission Recall 0 (Commission on $500 USD would also have been $20 USD)

    3. New fare is the same:
      Original Ticket $300 USD
      Commission $15 USD (5 % capped)
      New Ticket $300 USD
      Commission Recall 0

    4. New fare is higher:
      Original Ticket $300 USD
      Commission $15 USD (5 % capped)
      New Ticket $500 USD = $200 USD Add Collect
      Commission Recall 0 (No commission allowed on add collect)


    Non-Refundable Tickets

    1. No commission recall applies to non-refundable tickets:
      Original Ticket $300 USD
      Commission $15 USD (5 % capped)
      New Ticket $270 USD = $70 USD Add Collect
      (30 USD residual applied to $100 USD change fee)
      Commission Recall 0 (No Refund to Passenger)

      Internet, Net SAAverSM, And Online Commission Policy

      The following applies to U.S. 50, Canada, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands point of sale only.

      Effective for tickets issued on or after March 18, 2002, AA will no longer pay a base commission for tickets issued via the Internet. This change applies to any tickets issued via the Internet and purchased in, or purchased for the use of customers in, the US50, Canada, Puerto Rico, and U.S. virgin Islands.

      MCO Commission

      Effective October 1, 2002, AA no longer pays base commission on MCOs issued outside the United States (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and Canada for flights on itineraries originating within the territory of the United States (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and Canada.       Transportation Voucher Commission

      AA does not pay base commission on Transportation Vouchers.

      Travel Agency Service Fees

      When producing and collecting your travel agency service fee sales (TASF) via an automated MCO, you must validate the MCO on ARC/890 only. You may not validate the MCO on an actual carrier. If you validate the MCO on AA/001, you will receive a debit memo. Detailed information regarding the ARC TASF program is on ARC form number 111. See the ARC web site www.arccorp.com for ordering instructions.

      Service Fees For Administrative Charges

      Effective March 18, 2002, agencies are not permitted to retain, as a service fee, any portion of any prepaid transaction, unaccompanied minor charge, or change fee or penalty which may apply to any ticketed itinerary or unticketed prepaid.
