Moving forward, all tropical weather watches, once officially acknowledged by the National Hurricane Center and AA Operations, will default to the special passenger protection conditions, which will be posted on AA.com/stormpolicy as the weather develops.   Explanation of Travel Alert During periods of actual or predicted adverse weather or unplanned events, AA may make a policy exception to allow ticketed passengers, whose flights have not been cancelled, to make changes or apply for a refund with no change fee or penalty, or both. Historically, these situations have been broadly referred to as "Storm Policy" programs. -  The Travel Alert policy allows the ticket to be changed with no change fee or penalty. -  The travel alert policy allows only one ticketed change per ticket. -  AAdvantage tickets are covered by travel alert policy. All changes to AAdvantage tickets require contacting AA Reservations.   Groups Group reservations must be changed by AA Group & Meeting Travel.   Current Storms and Events For Tropical / Winter Weather Updates, see our Travel Notices page for the list of current storms and events impacting our operation.   Note: If you are waiting to see if a specific storm or event will receive an exception, keep checking back to current travel alerts for any updates.
