New Travel Notice Exception Policy
January 10, 2011
Effective Jan. 5, travel agents in the U.S. and Canada were no longer required to contact AA Reservations to rebook and reissue tickets during a specified Travel Notice event as long as certain requirements are met. This includes the allowance of refunding a non-refundable ticket if the customer’s flight is canceled and no other alternate flights are acceptable. Each unique Travel Notice will identify specific criteria that must be documented during the ticket exchange or refund. It is very important that this information is notated or your agency will be subject to a debit memo violation.

Further, each individual Travel Notice Exception Advisory will be released on AA.com/agency. During non-Travel Notice periods, all fare rule guidelines apply and any exceptions must be authorized by a Sales Support representative.
