Japan Schedule Changes and Travel Policy - *REVISED: 1100CT 31MAR*
March 31, 2011

Due to the recent tragic events in Japan and decreased demand for air travel, from April 6 through April 25, American Airlines will suspend two daily flights:

  • One of the two flights between Dallas/Fort Worth and Tokyo Narita
  • The flight between New York JFK and Tokyo Haneda

American Airlines will be handling customers impacted by the cancelled flights. Customers impacted by the cancelled flights will have the option to be rebooked or receive a full refund to the original form of payment. AA will process the re-accommodation for the AA flights and refer the PNR (queue place) back to the booking source. The travel agency will be responsible to work their schedule change queue and reissue their tickets for the re-accommodation and notify their customer.

Bulk/Opaque bookings with itineraries that include AA/AA* or OA, we suggest the ticket be refunded and book the customers for new travel.

Travel Agents are to follow the normal guidelines for Schedule Change-Rule 240/80.  Please refer to Schedule Change-Rule 240/80.
