JAL Temporarily Reduces International and Domestic Capacity on Select Routes
May 17, 2011
The JAL Group reduced capacity on a portion of its international routes in April and May this year, decreasing flight frequencies and changing fleet plans in order to secure profitability as travel demand declined following the Great East Japan Earthquake in March.
Today, 17MAY11, JAL announced that it will extend the period of reduction of frequencies on eight international routes and will reduce those on seven domestic routes until near the end of June. A Boeing 767-300ER aircraft will also remain in use for flights JL3087 and JL3082 between Narita and Nagoya instead of the larger 777-300ER during this time. JAL will resume normal schedules of three daily flights to Honolulu and two daily to Shanghai from Tokyo (Narita) from next month, after temporarily suspending one daily flight on each route since April. Contact JAL for more details on flights that are temporarily suspended.

AA*/AY e-Ticket Problem Resolved For Sabre Users - UPDATED: 1140CT/04MAY
May 4, 2011- updated 1140CST
As of May 4th, 2011, the e-ticketing indicator has been corrected on the new AA*/AY flight range in Sabre. Any bookings made by Sabre travel agencies and/or AA direct booking sources can now be ticketed (if new bookings) or reissued/exchanged.
The e-ticketing indicator has not been corrected in other GDS', but will be as of Monday, May 9th, 2011. For any non-Sabre travel agency or OA non-Sabre GDS' bookings will need to wait until the e-ticketing indicator is reflected on the new AA*/AY flight range to re-issue e-tickets for affected (existing – WK) bookings or to ticket unticketed bookings.
For any new bookings that have not yet been ticketed, AA is reviewing to ensure SAGE (our automated system) does not cancel any unticketed AA*/AY flights with the new flight range until after Monday the 9th.
The AA*/AY new flight range will remain closed for the time being until all the GDS' are updated with the e-ticketing indicator.
AA*/AY e-Ticket Issue - UPDATED: 1000CT/02MAY
May 2, 2011- updated 1000CST
On Sunday, May 1st, schedule change ran on all AA*/AY flights. The purpose of the schedule change was to change the AA* flight range from 7129-7158 to 6018-6070, effective for flights departing June 1 2011 and beyond. During this process, the e-ticketing indicator was left off the new AA*/AY flight range, resulting in the inability to issue/re-issue e-tickets on AA*/AY flights. Please do not work your WK Pnrs with AA*/AY in the itinerary until the e-ticketing indicators are placed back on the flights. To avoid paper tickets from being issued, please DO NOT update any PNR with AA*/AY flights in the itinerary. Please monitor the availability schedules to ensure the e-ticketing indicators are viewable.
