Notice of Commencement of Chapter 11 Cases
Updated: 29Dec11
As part of AMR's restructuring process, a legal document (the Notice of Commencement of Chapter 11 Cases) is being mailed to those people, organizations or business entities that may have claims against the Company. This Notice is a required, customary legal notice that is distributed early in a company's restructuring process to a wide variety of people and businesses. The Notice of Commencement of Chapter 11 Cases (NOC) is a standard court notice that is sent early in the restructuring process to people and companies that may have a prepetition claim against the company. The document provides notice that a Chapter 11 case has been commenced, and includes the date, time and location for the first meeting of creditors, known as the "Section 341 Meeting." The Section 341 Meeting is for informational purposes. While parties who believe they have a claim against the company are welcome to attend, no one is required to attend. No claims or rights will be considered or determined at the meeting. More information is available at AA.com/restructuring.
