Lan (LA) – AA*/LA Codeshare Bookings
The schedule synchronization has been completed for all AA*/LA flights, and these flights are now available for sale.
Delays In Customer Refunds
American Airlines Refunds on or between 8/21/12 through 9/4/12 experienced a technical issue. The technical issue resulted in the e- ticket (ETR) showing RFND status, but the credit was not officially transferred to the credit card company.
For those customers who may inquire about their refund, their credit should show on the credit card by Thursday, September 20, 2012. We value our customers and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Lan (LA) Airlines Bookings/Migration
LAN Airlines (LA) completed migration to their new computer system over the weekend. All LAN (LA) prime, Lan Ecuador (XL), and Lan Argentina (4M) flights are now re-opened for sale. Due to schedule synchronization all AA*/LA flights will continue to remain closed for sale until further notice.
Carry-On Baggage Enforcement
As a reminder for all our customers boarding an American Airlines flight, American Airlines will strictly enforce the carry-on baggage policies. The AA FAA approved carry-on baggage allowance, applies for any oversize and/or excess carry-on bag discovered on board one of our aircrafts by the FAA is considered an occurrence and is subject to a large fine.
All AA personnel at the gate will be using the Bag Sizer to determine if any item exceeds the allowance and must be checked. In this case the customer is required to pay the checked bag charge at the gate.
Due to high carry-on volume and limited overhead space, customers may need to check their carry-on bag at the gate. In this case, the customer will not be required to pay the checked bag charge when it is checked at the gate provided the bag met the required carry-on size and quantity limitations.
If the carry-on bag is checked, the customer will need to pick-up the bag from baggage claim at the final destination (if the customer is making a connection to their final destination, the bag will be connected also).
For additional information on baggage allowance you may refer to our reference Carry-On Allowance carry-on baggage allowance or contact AA Reservations.
