  • Protection is only for customer traveling on or after April 04, 2012 through June 14, 2012 for HEL ORD

Protection Options for Revenue/Published and Bulk/Opaque Fare Tickets:

British Airways (BA) Protection Option:

U.S. to/from HEL
JFK or ORD to/from LHR

  • Protect on AA, BA (prime flights), or AA*/BA codeshare partner using the same or lowest available inventory in the same cabin
  • If customer not originating in JFK or ORD
    • Book on AA in same or lowest available inventory same cabin to JFK or ORD

LHR to/from HEL  

  • Protect on AA*/BA or BA (prime flight) in the lowest available inventory in the same cabin
  • Do not book World Traveler Plus
  • Do not book BA codeshare flights operated by Finnair or any other codeshare service

Helpful suggestions

  • BA's HEL-LHR services arrive/depart LHR at T3 which will connect to AA flights without a terminal change
  • AA*/BA or BA prime services operate to/from T5

Finnair (AY) Protection Options
AA to/from European gateway cities

  • Protect on AA to European gateway using same or lowest available inventory in the same cabin
  • If at all possible please avoid rerouting via LHR

European gateway cities to/from HEL

  • Protect on AY prime or AA*/AY codeshare service in thelowest available inventory in the same cabin
  • Do not book AY codeshare flights operated by Iberia or any other codeshare service

Revenue/Published Fare Tickets:

Travel agencies may refund Revenue/Published fare tickets only per the criteria:

 

Travel agents may refund a wholly unused non-refundable ticket(s) via the ARC/IAR REN or BSP Refund Authorization Request template for the Helsinki and there are no other AA flights servicing the market.

  • Refundable tickets will be refunded to the original form of payment (FOP).
  • Refundable tickets that have a cancellation penalty fee will be refunded to the original form of payment (FOP); cancellation penalty fee is waived.
  • Non-refundable tickets will be refunded to original form of payment (FOP), penalty fee is waived.

The Refund-Exchange document (ARC) and/or the Refund Authorization Request template (BSP) must reflect:

  • Waiver code: AAWITHDRAWAL

Note: Change fee does not apply

PNR must be documented with the following OSI message:

Bulk/Opaque Fare Tickets:
Travel agencies may refund BULK /OPAQUE TICKETS ONLY per the criteria:

 

If a fare basis code contains NT, CB, CS, AS, ST or a published fare with a ticket designator of: CRUZ, WHLD, CONS, PDWH PCAA7 and PCAA7P by the wholesaler/consolidator that the ticket was issued by.

If the ticket is issued as BT (zero fare ticket) then these refunds are handled by the booking source.

  • Refundable tickets will be refunded to the original form of payment (FOP)
  • Refundable tickets that have a cancellation penalty fee may be refunded by the agency that issued the ticket to the original form of payment (FOP); cancellation penalty fee is waived.
  • Non-refundable bulk tickets may be refunded by the agency that issued the ticket to the original form of payment (FOP); penalty fee is waived.

The Refund-Exchange document (ARC) and/or the Refund AuthAuthorization Request template (BSP) must reflect:
