American Airlines is offering travel options for customers who wish to make a voluntary itinerary change because they have been impacted due to the rescheduling of the NYC public schools' February break.

Reissue Policy Information
American will waive change fees and travel agents may rebook and reissue tickets provided the below guidelines are met and applied:
Applicable Dates
- New Travel must originate on/before: Within one year of original ticket issue date
- New Ticket must be rebooked/reissued no later than: December 31, 2012
Change to Origin/Destination
Note: This is specific to this policy only:
Customers who reschedule their reservation for travel within one year of the original date of issue, and are able to reissue no later than December 31, 2012, may be subject to additional collection of fare for the new itinerary; waiving the Change Charge
- Book requested itinerary at current applicable fare
- If the new fare is higher than the originally ticket fare, the difference in fare will be collected.
- If the new fare is lower than the originally ticketed fare, a refund/residual of the fare difference may be issued back in the form of an MCO.

Same Destination/New Dates of Travel

Customer Unable to Rebook/Reissue On/Before December 31, 2012
If the customer is unable to commit to rebook/reissue of their ticket on or before December 31, 2012, and want to use it for future travel, all applicable fare rules will apply.
Refund
If customers are unable to rebook or reissue their ticket on or before December 31, 2012, and request a refund travel agent may submit the refund request to the form of voucher; waiving the change charge
