Protection Options for Revenue/Published and Bulk/Opaque Fare Tickets:

Customers ticketed on AA/001 for travel to/from Venezuela.   
Caracas (CCS)

Current Schedules:
• 4 daily flights - Caracas (CCS) and Miami (MIA)
• 1 daily flight - Caracas (CCS) and San Juan (SJU)
• 5 weekly flights - Caracas (CCS) and New York (JFK)
• 1 weekly flight - Caracas (CCS) and Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW)

July 2 - July 31, 2014 Schedules:
• 1 daily flight from Miami (MIA) to Caracas (CCS)

  • Flt 979 MIA – CCS 10:50 Departs/13:35 Arrival l – August 1 through August 18, 2014
  • Flt 914 CCS – MIA 14:45 Depart/13:10 Arrival – August 19 through September 2, 2014

• An Additional Flight between Miami (MIA) to Caracas (CCS) on Saturdays

  • Flt 967 MIA – CCS 9:15 Departs/11:55 Arrival
  • Flt 968 CCS – MIA 13:10 Depart/17:10 Arrival

• American auto-reaccomodation will update all customer PNR's after schedule change takes place
• Customers flying in/out of Caracas will be automatically re-accommodated to one of our CCS-MIA flights
• If customers original date of travel is altered by the schedule change:

  • Travel agent may rebook on American Airlines flights to alternate dates of travel:
    • Depart/arrive CCS within 7 days prior to the original ticketed dates of travel or 7 days after their original ticketed dates of travel
    • Book same inventory or lowest available inventory in the same cabin as originally ticketed.

August 1 – September 2, 2014 Schedules:
• 1 daily flight from Miami (MIA) to Caracas (CCS)

  • Flt 979 MIA – CCS 10:50 Departs/13:35 Arrival
  • Flt 914 CCS – MIA 14:45 Depart/13:10 Arrival

• An Additional Flight between Miami (MIA) to Caracas (CCS) on Saturdays

  • Flt 967 MIA – CCS 9:15 Departs/11:55 Arrival
  • Flt 968 CCS – MIA 13:10 Depart/17:10 Arrival

Rebooking Procedures:
Customers requested flights should be as close to their original travel times/dates as possible. If the customer's original date of travel is altered as a result of this reduction in service the travel agent may assist as follows

    • Requested flights must depart/arrive CCS within 7 days prior to the original ticketed dates of travel or 7 days after their original ticketed dates of travel

GDS Procedures:

  • Sabre Subscribers – For travel dates  Aug 1 – Sept 2:  
    • Travel Agent will need to manually rebook the passenger as a DS (Desire) for the new requested flight in the same inventory as originally ticketed after the schedule change takes place.
    • Travel Agent to queue place the PNR to QMT310
    • American will work the PNR and notify the travel agency on their board/notification queue or the confirmation.
    • Agency to reissue the ticket  
  • Other GDS Subscribers – For travel dates  Aug 1 – Sept 2:
    • Travel Agent will need to manually rebook the passenger as a DS (Desire) for the new requested flight in the same inventory as originally ticketed after the schedule change takes place.   
    • Travel Agent will need to call AA RES to have them queue place the PNR.
    • American will work the PNR and notify the travel agency on their board/notification queue or the confirmation.
    • Agency to reissue the ticket 

Maracaibo (MAR)

Current Schedules:
• 1 daily flight - Maracaibo (MAR) and Miami (MIA)

July 2 - July 31, 2014 Schedules:
• Two weekly flights from Miami (MIA) to Maracaibo (MAR) on Thursdays and Sundays

  • Flt 1197 MIA – MAR 10:15 Depart/12:40 Arrival
  • Flt 966 MAR – MIA 13:55 Depart/17:30 Arrival

• Customers flying in/out Maracaibo will be placed on a Maracaibo flight as long as departure is within 11 hours from original ticketed reservation.
• If the American auto-reaccomodation system does not find a Maracaibo flight within 11 hours from the original ticketed reservation, customer's flight will be canceled and no reaccommodation will be done.

  • The Travel Agency will be responsible for rebooking the customer
    • Customer may elect to depart/arrive CCS on original ticketed dates of travel - Travel expenses between MAR and CCS are the customer's responsibility - AA will not compensate.
    • Select Alternate dates of travel to depart/arrive MAR within 7 days prior to the original ticketed dates of travel or 7 days after their original ticketed dates of travel
    • Book same inventory or lowest available inventory in the same cabin as originally ticketed.

August 1 – September 2, 2014 Schedules:
• Two weekly flights from Miami (MIA) to Maracaibo (MAR) on Thursdays and Sundays

New ticket must be annotated:

SKEDCHG-VE

This is the only annotated verbiage required on the New ticket and supersedes the required verbiage for the fare ticketed

Reissue: New ticket will have the same fare/fare basis as original ticket

AA (001) tickets:

Travel agencies may refund Revenue/Published fare tickets only per the criteria:

NOTE: If the Travel Agents Revenue ticket has been EXCH by AA as an INVOL the refund request must be submitted directly to AA

Travel agents may refund a wholly unused non-refundable ticket(s) via the ARC/IAR REN or BSP Refund Authorization Request template for the Venezuela Reduction in Service and the passenger does not want to travel on the protected flight.

  • Refundable tickets will be refunded to the original form of payment (FOP).
  • Refundable tickets that have a cancellation penalty fee will be refunded to the original form of payment (FOP); cancellation penalty fee is waived.
  • Non-refundable tickets will be refunded to original form of payment (FOP), penalty fee is waived.

The Refund-Exchange document (ARC) and/or the Refund Authorization Request template (BSP) must reflect:

  • Waiver code: CCSMAR

PNR must be documented with the following OSI message:

Bulk/Opaque Fare Tickets:
Travel agencies may refund BULK /OPAQUE TICKETS ONLY per the criteria:

AA (001) tickets:

NOTE: If the BULK ticket has been EXCH by AA as an INVOL the refund request must be submitted directly to AA

BULK /OPAQUE tickets may only be refunded by the Travel Agents that issued the ticket per the below criteria:

  • Refer to BULK CODES for ticket qualification
  • If the ticket is issued as BT (zero fare ticket) then these refunds are handled by the booking source.
    • Refundable tickets will be refunded to the original form of payment (FOP)
    • Refundable tickets that have a cancellation penalty fee may be refunded by the agency that issued the ticket to the original form of payment (FOP); cancellation penalty fee is waived.
    • Non-refundable bulk tickets may be refunded by the agency that issued the ticket to the original form of payment (FOP); penalty fee is waived.

The Refund-Exchange document (ARC) and/or the Refund Authorization Request template (BSP) must reflect:
