Bill Cavitt is located at the Tulsa Maintenance and Engineering Base where he serves as Vice President – Engineering, Performance and Quality Assurance for American Airlines.
Cavitt joined American in August 2008 after 29 years in the aviation field, including a career with the US Naval Aviation and Northrop Grumman Corporation. Most recently, Cavitt co-owned a technical analysis company focused on providing aviation-related analytical support to the highest levels in the Department of Defense and Military Service decision makers.
In his current position, Cavitt oversees all engineering functions for the Airlines including powerplant, airframe and components, the M&E Quality Assurance/Inspections departments, as well as Employee Engagement, Continuous Improvement and M&E Training.
Cavitt has a Masters of Science, Aeronautical Engineering and Avionics degree from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy.
