Franco Tedeschi

Vice President – Chicago, American Airlines

Franco Tedeschi became Vice President – Chicago in April 2010. He is responsible for operations at American’s second–largest hub at O’Hare International Airport.

From July 2009 until April 2010, Tedeschi served as American’s Managing Director – Airport Operations, where he led Airport Services Planning activities including Customer Services, Ramp, Cabin Services and Ground Service Equipment in support of the airline’s day–to–day Field operations. He also headed up American’s Joint Business efforts with British Airways and Iberia for airport operations.

From 1990 to 2010, Tedeschi held various positions at both hub and spoke airports, both in the United States and in Europe. Before becoming Managing Director of Airport Operations he served as Managing Director for the Central Region airports. He also has been a Managing Director at American’s airport facilities in Boston, San Jose, Calif.; and he was General Manager of airport operations in New York and Newark; Paris; Manchester; and Milan. He was also a manager at London’s Heathrow Airport.

Tedeschi joined American in 1990 after spending seven years with Service Air Limited. He earned an associate degree in Science and General Studies from Reid Kerr College and an Associate Degree in Science Aviation from East Surry College.
