Carolyn E. Wright

Vice President – Customer Planning, American Airlines

Carolyn E. “Carol” Wright was named Vice President – Customer Planning in May 2012. In this role, she guides strategic development and planning for Airport Services, Reservations and Flight Service in areas including budgeting, training, policies and procedures.

Prior to joining the Customer organization, Wright was Vice President, Human Resources with responsibility for compensation, benefits, retirement and workers compensation.

Wright also served as Senior Vice President, Customer Services for American Eagle, in which she managed inflight services, airport services and customer service activities throughout the carrier’s domestic network. She also served as American’s Vice President, Reservations.

Wright joined American in 1988 in the Finance department and held a variety of management positions in Revenue Management. She worked as Division Manager of American’s Southwest Reservation Office in Tucson, and the following year returned to headquarters to become Managing Director – Reservations, the position she held until being named Vice President – Reservations in September 1998.

A Chicago native, Wright received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado College in 1984 and in 1988 received a master’s degree in Management from Northwestern University. Before joining American, Wright was an Associate Consultant with Cresap, McCormick and Paget, a management consulting firm.
