American Airlines and JetBlue Airways Launch Reciprocal Frequent Flyer Agreement And Expand Relationship
Today, American Airlines and JetBlue Airways announced the launch of a reciprocal frequent flyer agreement which allows members of the American Airlines AAdvantage® program and JetBlue’s TrueBlue® customer loyalty program to earn AAdvantage miles or TrueBlue points, respectively, in select markets. The commercial agreement announced in March 2010 has been expanded to include one new American Airlines international market and nine new JetBlue domestic markets. Customers will now be able to connect easily on flights to a total of 15 of American’s international destinations departing from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Boston Logan Airport (BOS), including Barcelona, Spain (BCN); Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (GIG); and Tokyo, Japan (HND and NRT); and 26 JetBlue domestic markets, including Portland, Maine; Rochester, N.Y.; or Richmond, Va.
American and JetBlue customers are now able to book American and JetBlue connecting itineraries on AA.com, providing customers with a new option for booking convenience. The nine new Jet Blue markets will be available on AA.com after December 10, 2010 Customers can also continue to be able to book these combined itineraries through global distribution services (GDS), including travel agencies, most major North American online travel agency websites, or by calling American Airlines Reservations at 800-433-7300.
AAdvantage miles and TrueBlue points can be earned only on the respective JetBlue and American Flights in the listed markets above and can be awarded on any itinerary that includes those flights, whether those flights are used alone or in conjunction with any other connecting flights..
Effective November 18, AAdvantage members can now earn AAdvantage miles on 26 JetBlue domestic routes and JetBlue TrueBlue members can now earn TrueBlue points on 15 American Airlines routes. Mileage will be earned based on each airline’s frequent flyer program rules. These routes include:
