Minimum Mileage Guarantee
As an elite status member, you will earn 500 minimum miles for flights under 500 flight miles on applicable routes.

Each AAdvantage elite status level has its own Service Desk to provide you with personalized attention. Representatives are available to assist you with reservations, upgrade purchases and requests, award claims, AAdvantage account inquiries and customer service.
Main Cabin Extra
Our Main Cabin Extra product offers more spacious seating with four to six inches of additional legroom when compared to a standard Main Cabin seat. Located in the front of the cabin, Main Cabin Extra seating allows easier boarding and deplaning. As an AAdvantage elite status member, you will receive complimentary access to Main Cabin Extra seating.*
*AAdvantage Gold members will have complimentary access to Main Cabin Extra seating through February 28, 2014. Beginning March 1, Gold members will receive a 50% discount when reserving a Main Cabin Extra seat in advance, or can enjoy them complimentary within 24 hours of departure (if seats are available).
Preferred Seats (standard legroom seats, more favorably located throughout the cabin) are available on most flights in addition to the Main Cabin Extra seats. We set aside a number of these seats on every flight for premium** customers and anyone traveling on full-fare Economy Class tickets. As an elite status member, you have complimentary access to Preferred Seats. Preferred Seats will be available for purchase 331 days prior to departure by most other customers. Although the benefit varies by carrier, you may also have access to preferred seating on oneworld® member airlines.

Guaranteed Economy Class Availability
Executive Platinum members and one companion may book full-fare Economy Class seats even on sold-out American Airlines, American Eagle and American Connection flights when you make your reservation at least 24 hours in advance (excludes codeshare flights). Effective November 1, 2013, flights to/from Venezuela are excluded from this benefit.
Top Priority When Waitlisted for Purchased First or Business Class
If we cannot confirm a First or Business Class seat on your preferred American Airlines flight, Executive Platinum members will be placed at the top of the waitlist for the next available seat. Please call at least 24 hours prior to flight departure for this service. If you have not received confirmation prior to your arrival at the airport, you may ask the airport agent to place you on the standby list.
Waived Ticketing Service Charge
The service charge which normally applies to tickets issued by American Airlines Reservations, an Airport Agent, or at one of our Travel Centers, is waived for Executive Platinum members traveling on revenue or AAdvantage award tickets.
Priority Check-In and Security Screening Lanes
Our self-service kiosks and aa.com are the fastest ways to check-in when you travel on American Airlines. You're also welcomed to use curb side check-in for your flight. For additional assistance, you have access to the special Priority check-in area. There may be additional check-in lanes within the Priority area. In that case, Executive Platinum and Platinum members may check in at any First Class check-in lane, regardless of the class of service in which you are traveling on American Airlines. AAdvantage Gold members may check in at any Business Class check-in lane (in airports without Business Class check-in, you may use First Class check-in). We then invite you to use our exclusive security screening lanes at select airports.
Flagship Check-In at London Heathrow
At London Heathrow airport, AAdvantage Executive Platinum members are invited to use the exclusive Flagship Check-In area located in Zone H. AAdvantage Platinum and AAdvantage Gold members traveling in Economy Class from London Heathrow are invited to use Priority Access check-in counters in Zone B. Learn more about check-in options.
AAdvantage elite status members are among the first invited to board the plane. Directly after our uniformed U.S. military and First/Business Class customers, our Executive Platinum customers will board, followed by our Platinum and Gold members, and then all other Priority customers. Should you arrive at the gate after Priority customers have been called, you may bypass the General Boarding lines and enjoy the convenience of boarding anytime via the dedicated Priority boarding lane. AAdvantage elite status members have the option to standby for a different flight on the day of travel when flying within and between the U.S., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada and international points in the Caribbean, at no charge.
Priority Baggage Delivery
Executive Platinum and Platinum members will receive Priority Baggage Delivery. Upon check in, your luggage will be tagged with branded Priority bag tags. And when you arrive at your destination, your bags will be the first ones delivered to the baggage claim area, allowing a swift, convenient exit from the airport. Waived Checked Baggage Charges
Executive Platinum members may check three bags free of charge, Platinum members may check two bags free of charge, and Gold members may check one bag free of charge (for tickets issued prior to April 8, 2014, Gold members may continue to check two bags free of charge). All bags must be within current size and weight limits. This benefit applies when traveling in the Main Cabin on American Airlines within the United States and for travel to and from certain locations in Europe to the United States and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. All AAdvantage elite status members are entitled to priority check-in, preferred seating, priority standby and wait listing when traveling on oneworld airlines. Additionally, Executive Platinum and Platinum members have access to the Business Class lounges of all oneworld airlines on the day of travel when you are flying internationally,* as long as your continuing flight is marketed and operated by a oneworld airline. Executive Platinum members also have access to the First Class lounges and may check one additional bag for free or, if your ticket mentions a weight allowance, an extra 44 lbs. when you fly on oneworld airlines on eligible flights**. Waived AAdvantage Award Processing Charge
When you are requesting AAdvantage awards within 21 days of departure, AAdvantage award charges will be waived for Executive Platinum, Platinum and Gold customers when using miles from their account.
Waived Ticketing Service Charge

AAdvantage Award Ticket Change and Reinstatement Charges
Charges associated with reinstating a fully unused award ticket that has not expired are waived for Executive Platinum members. In addition, a ticketing charge and/or additional miles may apply for a date change or change to an eligible origin or destination on a MileSAAver or AAnytime award (waived for Executive Platinum members using miles from their account). Additional charges are not applicable when voluntarily upgrading to a higher award level in the same travel region.
Expanded Award Seating Availability
As an Executive Platinum member, you have exclusive access to additional MileSAAver award seating availability on American Airlines, American Eagle and American Connection flights for you and one companion. While this is not a guarantee of available seating, it does provide more flexibility when you are traveling on a MileSAAver award. This option is only accessible by calling the Executive Platinum Service Desk.
Complimentary food and drink in the Main Cabin
Executive Platinum members can enjoy a complimentary beverage from our standard alcoholic selections as well as one of our snacks or meals, where available, when flying in the Main Cabin onboard American Airlines and American Eagle.
