oneworld(R) Award Ticket Routing Rules

Valid Airlines
Valid on all oneworld airlines and their oneworld affiliates.

Travel Embargo Dates
Using your AAdvantage miles for travel on airline awards is subject to capacity controls and travel embargo dates.

Routing Restrictions
oneworld awards are based on actual miles flown. For tickets issued on or after September 1, 2008, all flights, including connections, are included in the mileage calculation. For tickets issued on or before August 31, 2008, contact American Airlines Reservations for mileage calculation.

Your itinerary must include two airlines if American Airlines (AA) is not included, otherwise three airlines (including American/American Eagle).
  • Valid on all oneworld airlines and their oneworld affiliates.
  • May connect only twice in each city.
  • May not connect at the origination or destination city.
  • Itinerary may not exceed 16 segments.
  • Travel is valid on all British Airways flights except for travel between the United States and the United Kingdom.

Stopovers
  • One stopover is allowed per valid city. There is no limit to the number of stopovers.
  • Stopover not permitted at the origination or destination city.
  • Stopover is defined as more than four hours for domestic flights, and six hours for international flights.
  • If there are no scheduled flights within this timeframe, regardless of availability, you must take the next scheduled flight but may not exceed 24 hours. If the connection exceeds 24 hours, it will be considered a stopover.
