Q: Have AA's phone numbers
A: No. The actual phone numbers
have not changed. What has changed is
the way you make your selections when
you call, since we are now using speech
recognition instead of touchtone. The
phone numbers that will be updated are:
the general American Airlines phone
number (1-800-433-7300), the AAdvantage
phone number (1-800-882-8880), and Elite Service Desk phone numbers.
Q: Some phone menu's only allow you to perform one thing at a time. Are you able to move around in AA's menu?
A: You have the opportunity to move between the menu options and accomplish multiple tasks. For example, you can review your itinerary, then check gate information and then verify your mileage balance.
Q: What is new for me when I call the main reservation number or the AAdvantage reservation line?
A: You have the opportunity
to enroll in the "Remember
Me" feature. If you choose
to enroll in "Remember Me", anytime
you call from any enrolled phone number,
you are automatically welcomed and acknowledged
by your first name (with your permission).
You won’t have to give your AAdvantage
number each time you call from that
phone and you will receive information
on your existing reservations without
providing flight numbers.
Q: Can I change my personal information such as address and/or phone number through the phone menu?
A: No. Changes related to your AAdvantage Account must be made online at www.aa.com/myaccount or by speaking with an AAdvantage Customer Service Agent by calling (1-800-882-8880) and saying AAdvantage Account Service at the main menu.
Q: How do I check my mileage balance?
A: If you are enrolled in Remember Me, just say 'Mileage Balance' at the Main Menu.
If you are not enrolled in Remember Me, you can still say 'Mileage Balance' at the Main Menu. You will be prompted for your AAdvantage Number and Zip Code. This service is available to members with a valid U.S.-based, 5-digit zip code listed in the AAdvantage account.
Q: How can I check my progress towards Elite Status?
A: If you are enrolled in Remember Me, just say 'Elite Status' at the Main Menu.
If you are not enrolled in Remember Me, you can still say 'Elite Status' at the Main Menu, and then you can choose to hear information on AAdvantage Gold, AAdvantage Platinum, or AAdvantage Executive Platinum qualifying requirements.
Q: Can I request missing mileage credit?
A: Yes. If you are enrolled in Remember Me you can request mileage for AA flights by saying Mileage Credit. You must have your 11 digit ticket number ticket number ready beginning with 001.
If you are not enrolled in Remember Me you can still request mileage for AA flights by saying 'Mileage Credit'. You will be prompted for your AAdvantage Number and zip code. You must have your 13 digit ticket number ready beginning with 001. This service is available to members with a valid U.S.-based, 5-digit zip code listed in the AAdvantage Account.

Remember Me FAQs
Q: Who can sign up for "Remember Me"?
A: To be eligible for "Remember
Me" you must be an AAdvantage member and have
your phone number in your AAdvantage
Account. You can enroll in Remember Me three (3) ways:
To enroll through the phone system, you must call us from one of the phone numbers in your AAdvantage Account that you want to enroll.
- On AA.com, on the My Account page
- By speaking with an AAdvantage Reservations Representative
- By using our interactive phone system
How do I add the zip code security feature?
A: In order to enroll in the zip code security feature of Remember Me, your address must contain a U.S.-based, 5-digit zip code. You may add this feature via the My Account page during initial enrollment in Remember Me or by editing your existing profile. You may also add this feature by calling our interactive phone system or AAdvantage Reservations. Please note, members residing outside the U.S. (with 10-digit phone numbers) can enroll in "Remember Me", but cannot opt for the zip code security feature.
Q: Can I sign up for "Remember Me" on AA.com?
A: Yes. To sign up for "Remember Me", log into My Account and select the Contact Information and Password tab. First, make sure the phone numbers you want to enroll are listed in the My Contact Information section. Then, select Enroll in the Remember Me section on the page. You can also sign up through the interactive phone system or with an AAdvantage Reservations Representative.
Q: My AAdvantage Account
is updated with my phone number,
but the phone system won't let me enroll.
A: This can happen if your
cell phone is out of range of your local
calling plan. If you are roaming, give
it another try when you're closer to
home. There are also other situations where
home or business phones are not identifiable
in which case you will not be able to enroll.
This is an issue with the way the phone company
identifies your number. If this happens, you can enroll on AA.com or call AAdvantage Reservations and enroll in Remember Me through a representative.
Q: Can my cell phone number be listed in my profile as my home phone and actually be my cell phone number and still work with "Remember Me"?
Q: Is "Remember Me" a free service?
Q: I have several cell phone numbers associated with my AAdvantage account, but only one of the cell phone numbers is showing in the Contact Information section on AA.com. How do I enroll both cell phone numbers in Remember Me?
A: AA.com only displays one of each type of phone number in your account. If you need to make changes to phone numbers that do not appear in the Contact Information section of My Account, contact AAdvantage Reservations.
Q: How do I turn off the "Remember Me" feature?
A: Login and go to My Account. Under the Remember Me section, select "Edit" and then select 'Opt out of Remember Me.' Or, call our interactive phone system and say "Remember Me" at the main menu. You will be asked if you want to turn off "Remember Me". Answer "Yes" and follow the prompts. An AAdvantage Reservations Representative can also assist you.
Q: I'm changing my phone number. How can I update my "Remember Me" enrollment?
A: Delete your old phone number and add your new phone number to your AAdvantage account at My Account or by speaking with an AAdvantage Reservations Representative. Remember Me will automatically recognize the new phone number (unless you specifically un-enroll the new phone number). Note: Failure to delete the old phone number from your AAdvantage Account could result in the new owner of your phone number being provided details of your account, including upcoming flight information.
Q: Can I enroll a phone number with an extension in Remember Me?
A: Yes, however, this is not recommended for account security reasons. Remember Me works off the main phone number and cannot distinguish between different extensions.
Q: What if someone else uses my phone to call AA once I am registered?
A: If someone else is using the associated phone to call AA, they will be able to access your AAdvantage account data and/or future flight information. If this is a concern for you, then do not enroll any phone numbers in the Remember Me feature that are used by anyone else but you. Or, you can select the option of adding the zip code security feature at any time. If this option is taken, the caller will be required to provide the zip code associated with your AAdvantage account, on future calls to AA. Please note that you will also be required to provide the zip code each time you call, prior to proceeding to the menu.
Q: I am not an AAdvantage member. Can I enroll in Remember Me?
A: The Remember Me feature is only available to AAdvantage members. To enroll in the AAdvantage program, see www.aa.com/enroll. Once you have an AAdvantage account, you can enroll in Remember Me on the My Account page, through our interactive phone system or with an AAdvantage Reservations Representative.
Q: When I called AA, I was greeted by someone else's first name. Why did this happen and how do I correct it?
A: This happened because the member who owned the phone number before you was enrolled in Remember Me. The member did not delete the
phone number from their profile or un-enroll in Remember Me before relinquishing the phone number. Please call AA at 1-800-882-8880 and
speak to an AAdvantage Reservations Representative to correct this problem.
Q: Does my "Remember Me" enrollment last forever?
A: You will continue to be enrolled in Remember Me so long as you call AA from a registered phone number and use the
Remember Me feature at least once every 13 months. If you do not use the Remember Me feature for 13 months, your
registration in Remember Me will expire. If this happens, you can always re-enroll.
