Women Connected – Travel Tips |

To help with your packing dilemmas or for a few new ideas, we've asked our women travelers to relate some of their best travel advice.
Pack color or activity books to keep kids entertained during the flight. I noticed that some airports customer assistance kiosks have crayons and coloring books for the little travelers.
Carry wet wipes to get stains out and to wipe things clean. Plus, it's easier than traveling with liquid antiseptic gel.
Put your business card inside your luggage in case your luggage tag comes off.
Pack a few note cards and stamps to send thank you notes to your hosts, business associates, etc. Spend a little time to show your appreciation.
Take a few ziplock bags for dirty clothes, wet swimwear, or for things that you want to keep clean. Just have a few in your side pocket.
Check in an empty suitcase when going on vacation in case you want to make purchases so you can get it back home. Alternatively, include an empty tote bag in your existing luggage.

If you're traveling with only one bag, leave items on the hanger and cover with dry cleaning plastic. Double them over gently and place in your rolling bag. Hang the clothes in your bathroom while showering to eliminate any wrinkles.
In case you leave your computer at security - put your name and phone number on the computer or case.
Make it easier to get through security - less jewelry, no belts, shoes that are easy to take off.
Printing a map of the airport gates can be very helpful.
I travel with a kaleidoscope. The sun is brilliant at 30,000 feet and if there's a fussy child sitting near me, he or she can be entertained for awhile.
Carry a small, high-intensity flashlight to help in unfamiliar places such as the rental car or the hotel.
Always keep your essentials packed and ready to go. Don't forget important toiletries, an umbrella or even slippers for walking around in your hotel room. |
