Things To Do In Daytona Beach

Do you have the need for speed? If so, you’ll love one of the most popular activities in Daytona Beach—visiting Daytona International Speedway, home of the world-famous Daytona 500. Since Daytona Beach is known as the World Center of Racing, a visit to this NASCAR landmark is a must. It’s open to the public daily, offering views of the track and its renowned 31-degree high banked turns. If you feel inspired after your tour, try your racing skills in the on-site arcade.

If you’d prefer a more slow-paced vacation, head to the beach. One of our favorite things to do in Daytona Beach is to find a spot in the sand and simply relax. With 23 miles of beachfront, it’s easy to do. Since the beach has splash parks, volleyball and even jungle gyms near the shore, Daytona Beach is a very family-friendly destination. Want to add a little more excitement to your day at the beach? Stroll the Daytona Beach Boardwalk and Pier, where you’ll find a roller coaster, Ferris wheel, go-karts and more fun activities. With multiple restaurants and shops, you can make a day of it.

Another of our favorite things to do in Daytona Beach is to delve into the area’s rich history with a tour of the historic Ponce Inlet. Highlights include the tallest lighthouse in Florida, the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse, botanical gardens and history-rich cemeteries. Architectural and history buffs alike will enjoy a tour of The Casements, John. D. Rockefeller’s restored winter home in Ormond Beach.

When you fly to Daytona Beach with American Airlines, you’ll be relaxed and ready to discover all these attractions and more – or less, if you simply want to spend your time watching the waves roll ashore.
