Meet John Keetch, our featured artist.
John is a 737 Captain who lives in Innsbrook, MO and is currently based in Washington DC.
"I love to fly. It requires precision, skill and adherence to exacting procedures and regulations. Painting, on the other hand, is an opportunity to color outside of the lines with complete abandon. I began painting in 2004; first with a brush, but eventually found real joy in the tactile sensuousness of laying thick color on canvas with a palette knife. Results don't really matter, it's more about the experience of trying to capture the feeling of a place or moment--whether it's the the forest on an autumn morning, sunrise on a deserted beach or just painting whatever is in view from a comfortable spot while sharing a bottle of wine with friends. It's been the encouragement of those friends and my dear wife that have made this adventure so satisfying."
