If you're on the go, simply launch the app, retrieve your reservation and check in on your mobile device!
You can check in one to 24 hours prior to departure for domestic flights and two to 24 hours prior to departure for international flights.
Check flight status and schedules in real time as well as your gate and seat info at a glance.
View an existing reservation, search by departure/arrival cities or flight number and get up to the minute info.
You can also create a flight status notification to be alerted to last minute changes!
The American Airlines app saves your mobile boarding pass for easy access.
Simply retrieve a reservation for the flight that you already checked in for or retrieve your list of saved boarding passes.
If you are checking bags, show your boarding pass at a Bag Drop position or ticket counter, at the security checkpoint or at your gate prior to boarding the flight.
You can now log on to the mobile app and select or change your seat.
If you would like to purchase a Main Cabin Extra (MCE) or Preferred seat, you can do so with a credit card stored in your AAdvantage® profile. To save a credit card to your profile, simply log on to your AAdvantage® account and update the credit or debit card information on the Reservation Preferences tab.
No need to search the airport for terminal maps, now you have them right when you need them.
Find maps for select airports in the Terminal Map section of your app.
Now you can view the Upgrade list four hours prior to departure for any flight. If you are on the upgrade list, your name will appear on the list in the app. As upgrade requests are confirmed, a checkmark will appear next to the name.
If you have your Mobile Boarding Pass in Passbook and your upgrade clears, you will get a notification on the locked screen of your new seat assignment. If you don't have Passbook, you will tap the Mobile Boarding Pass button in the app and it will automatically show the most recent info, including your new seat assignment.
Additionally, if you are on the Standby list, simply click the Standby tab to view the list directly on your mobile device. You no longer have to watch the screen at your gate. You can just refresh the list and get up-to-date information at your fingertips.
