Experience the future of travel as we upgrade our fleet with hundreds of new planes and refresh our existing aircraft to bring you a more modern, comfortable and connected experience. We're changing the way you fly as we build toward the youngest fleet in the sky in five years among the five largest U.S. airlines.
Watch what you want when you want on our new planes with the latest in personal, in-seat entertainment, choosing from a vast selection of movies, TV programs, audio selections and games. If you prefer to venture online, stay connected with Wi-Fi, available on most flights within the continental U.S. – and on select international flights rolling out in early 2013. All of these features, including individual 110v universal AC power outlets and USB jacks, will be available at every seat and every cabin on our new planes,* which are designed to keep you comfortable and entertained while you fly.
Our fleet is being updated with cutting-edge aviation technology and design. Since May 2011, we've been adding up to three Boeing Next Generation 737-800 planes to our fleet each month, which feature Boeing Sky Interior — a contemporary atmosphere and enhanced lighting. Beginning in 2018, we also plan to add 100 new Boeing 737-800 MAX planes, which will offer a fresh, modern inflight experience as well as more environmentally friendly engines. Additionally, we plan to introduce 130 Airbus A319 and Airbus A321 aircraft beginning in July of 2013, with continued deliveries through 2017. As we welcome new planes to the American Airlines fleet we will retire aging members of our fleet – meaning that no matter where in North America you travel, you will experience more comfort and style in every cabin.
When you travel between New York's JFK and San Francisco International Airport, and between JFK and Los Angeles International Airport, you'll appreciate that American plans to be the only carrier to offer you a three-class cabin, plus fully lie-flat First and Business Class seats including all-aisle access from every First Class seat on our Airbus A321 Transcontinental aircraft. These planes will also offer the option of four to six more inches of legroom with Main Cabin Extra seating.
We're also updating our international fleet with new and refreshed planes to keep you comfortable on flights around the world. Be among the first to enjoy a world-class travel experience on our new Boeing 777-300ERs, featuring fully lie-flat First and Business Class seats with all-aisle access. From new cabin interiors to Wi-Fi, the new aircraft offers you a unique, state-of-the-art travel experience. You'll enjoy more dining options, a wine sampling for First Class travelers and upgraded amenity kits in Business and First Class. We'll also begin taking delivery of over 40 Boeing 787 Dreamliners for international travel in the near future.
