Choose The Seat For Your Next Flight Using AA.com |

Viewing Available Seats Prior To Booking
Before you make a reservation, you can check to see which seats are currently unassigned.
Simply click on 'View Available Seats' under the "Reservations" menu. All you need is your
flight number, departure date, origin and destination cities.
Please note that this feature only displays currently unassigned seats -
you may select your seats after making a reservation.

Seat Assignments In The Booking Process
Upon making a reservation, our site automatically assigns you a seat during the booking process
based on any Reservation Preferences you have listed under "My Account". If you have not designated
a seat preference, AA.com will search for a window, aisle or middle seat and automatically assign
whichever is available at the time your reservation is complete.
Note: If two or more passengers are traveling in the same reservation, and there are no available seats
together, AA.com will not automatically assign your seats. You will instead see an 'unassigned' notation
next to that particular flight segment at the end of the process. Please see below for instructions on
selecting seats.
Whether you choose to 'Login' or 'Continue Without Logging In', you will have the opportunity to change
your assigned seats once you have finished booking your reservation online if seats are available.

Changing Seat Assignments At The End Of Booking Process
If you are placing the reservation on hold, the red 'Select' option appears on the "Hold Reservations Summary"
page in the "Your Itinerary" section.
If you are purchasing a ticket, the red 'Select' option appears on the "Finish" page in the "Your Itinerary"
section.
- Click the red 'Select' button that appears under the 'Seats' column for each flight to see a seat map.
To change the auto-assigned seat, click on the desired available seat from the display and click 'Submit'.
Repeat for each flight number.

Changing Seat Assignments Once The Booking Process Is Complete
After the booking process is complete, you may select/change your seats by retrieving your reservation, or using
Flight Check-In on AA.com (before printing your boarding pass).
Retrieving An Existing Reservation To Select Or Change Seats
You may access your reservation on AA.com at any time to select and/or change available seat assignments online.
- Select the "My Reservations" tab on the homepage
- Next, "Login" or "Continue Without Logging In"
- Complete the "Find Reservations" box if your itinerary does not appear in your list
- Click the red "Select" button to change or select an available seat
On the 'Select Seats' page, choose seat assignments by clicking on the interactive seat map (see right).
- The blue indicator (>>) will appear next to the passenger whose seat you are selecting
- Click the "Next" button to select or change available seats for other flights in your itinerary
- Click the red "Submit" button to save your selection or click "Cancel" to save existing seat
assignments and return to the previous screen
Using Flight Check-In On AA.Com To Select Or Change Seats
When you use Flight Check-In on AA.com, you may access your reservation to select and/or change your seat
assignments online. Note: You may only select and/or change prior to using Flight Check-In.
- Click the "Flight Check-In" tab on the homepage
- Next, "Login" or "Continue Without Logging In"
- Complete the "Find Reservations" box, if your itinerary does not appear in your list
- Click the red "Select" button to change or select an available seat
