New Two-Class Cabin Configuration

AA is reconfiguring all 767-300 equipment by simplifying the fleet. The new cabin configuration is 30 Premium and 182 Coach seats.

Effective March 2, 2003, all 767-300 flights to Hawaii will operate in the new two-class cabin configuration. Effective April 1, 2003 most European markets will change to the J and Y configuration. The new configuration is already available in your CRS. If some of your confirmed bookings are impacted by this change please contact your local AA reservations and ask to be transferred to the special assistance department.

Overview
Includes flights for all transatlantic, transpacific and select Central and South America destinations.


Definition of Premium Passenger
All AAdvantage Gold / Platinum members / AAirpass members as well as all passengers travelling on full fare tickets are classed as Premium or eligible to use the Premium service facilities such as Premium check-in, etc.


Premium Customer Services
  • Special check-in positions at major United States and all European airports.
    Premium passengers travelling in coach class may still checkin at the First class check-in, go to separate security area, preboard and reserve preferred blocked seats.
  • Separate security area for check-in
  • Premium service bag tagging for priority baggage handling and First delivery to claims or customs area
  • Recommended advance check-in time is 2 hours.
Premium Customer Services Features
  • Access to admirals clubs and First class lounges. terms and conditions apply. Please click on our Airport page for more details.
  • Premium customer services representatives available to greet and assist both originating and connecting passengers at all international destinations and in the major domestic cities.
  • Park avenue check-in service at LHR for LHR departing passengers. Please view details on the Airport page.
  • Domestic connections Customers traveling First class on international portion of itinerary are permitted to travel in First class on domestic segments connecting to/from their non United States segments.

International in-flight features/amenities

  • Personalized service by flight attendants with name recognition and dedication to detail.
  • Spacious separate forward cabin with plush sleeper seats, which recline to fully flat position, equipped with adjustable headrests, electric footrests and swivel tray tables. The First and Business cabins are located at the front of the aircraft.
  • Individual video units with a selection of feature films and Business/instructional tapes.
  • There are no personal videos in Business class on any route utilizing a 777 aircraft or our 3-class A300s. These aircraft are equipped with a 10 channel in seat video system. Business class passengers have access to all 10 channels, but do not have the capability of stopping or starting the video programme on demand. (Only available on 767, 777 and M11 aircraft).
  • Video games are available on 3-class Airbus with an entertainment control mounted in armrest.
  • Presented with fresh flowers and crisp linens prior to departure
  • Complimentary travel amenity kits. (See SpAA In Flight Amenity Kits by Temple Spa).
  • Complimentary baby kits containing. View more details on our Minors page.
  • Complimentary headsets, selections of foreign and domestic newspapers, writing portfolios and playing cards are offered.
  • One or two full-length movies depending on length of flight.
  • An airshow moving map that tracks the flight progress on the A300 aircraft between BOS-PAR and BOS/JFK-LHR.
  • Power to the seat to plug in laptops on certain aircraft.
  • DVD players available on all power port equipped B767 and MD11 aircraft on Intl flagship service flights.

Note: Passengers are not permitted to use their own DVD movies on flight.


SpAA In Flight Amenity Kits

Beginning in June 2005, passengers traveling on American Airlines International Flagship Service in First or Business class will experience a new SpAA In FlightTM amenity kit featuring Temple Spa products. Presented in a custom designed navy blue case, the Temple Spa SPA-TO-GOTM products have been carefully selected to address the needs of the passenger at each stage of their trip from take off to landing. Knowing how busy and hectic our lifestyles are, most people don't always have time to visit a spa, so AA and Temple Spa are pleased to bring the spa experience to you in flight to help passengers achieve a sense of balance and equilibrium.

International Beverage and Meals Service

Meal service varies.

In First class, some examples may include: Premium caviar service, salad cart with two choices, sorbet served between courses, fruit and cheese board, ice cream sundaes, coffee, cordials, cognac, and selection of Premium chocolates.

In Business class, some examples may include: cold appetizers, salad with choice of dressing, plated main course, fruit and cheese, dessert with specialty toppings, coffee, cordials, cognac.

AA is now charging for alcoholic beverages in the main cabin systemwide.


In-flight features/amenities
  • Complimentary headsets
  • Seat back video units including 10 channels showing first run movies and classic films on:
    Boeing 777 all international flights
    Airbus 300 BOS-PAR and BOS/JFK-LHR
  • Video games are available on 3-class Airbus, International Flagship Service. The entertainment control is located in seatback.
  • An airshow moving map which tracks flight progress on Airbus 300 aircraft on BOS-CDG and BOS/JFK-LHR
  • Centre line overhead storage bins

Beverage and Meals Service
  • Hot towel service prior to primary meal service
  • Meal service features printed menus with choice of entree, and is changed monthly. Note: Buy on Board and Buy at the Gate Meals are now available on certain flights. Please see our Meals page for full details.
  • A second meal, breakfast or snack is offered to all European destinations, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay.
  • Pre-arrival candies offered
