AMERICAN AIRLINES ANNOUNCES NEW ROUTE FROM BRUSSELS AIRPORT TO BOSTON VIA LONDON HEATHROW
American Airlines today announced it will begin a daily service between Brussels (BRU) and Boston (BOS) via London Heathrow (LHR), starting November 19, 2009. The new service will complement American's existing two daily non-stop flights between Brussels-Chicago (ORD) and Brussels-New York (JFK).
American will fly the new route with Boeing 767-300 aircraft in a two-class layout, offering a total of 225 seats, of which 30 are Next Generation Business Class seats.
"The introduction of a third daily flight for the 2009/10 winter schedule demonstrates the importance American places on the Brussels market", commented Craig Kreeger, American's Senior Vice President - International. "Not only will the service open up a new route to Boston for Brussels passengers, it will also increase existing flight options by enabling late afternoon connections to both Chicago and New York JFK, as well as an additional Brussels-London option for local passengers".
Jos Stroobants, Director Aviation Affairs of Brussels Airport, praised American Airlines' decision. "Boston and New England have always been a popular transatlantic destination for both business - and holiday travellers and we very much welcome American's third daily flight. The winter schedule will be operated with a stop in London and I'm sure it will be a success with Brussels passengers looking for additional travel options to the US.
