American Airlines Launches New Website and Blog Contest to Encourage more People to Pursue their American Dreams

SHANGHAI, China American Airlines, founding member of the oneworld® Alliance, today launched a new website that serves as the one-stop-spot for valuable information, guidance and tips for first time travelers to the United States HelloAmerica.cn. The website also serves as a communications platform that allows people to share their past and current American experiences or future American dreams with others. In addition, and to mark the February 26 kick-off of this site, American Airlines has opened an exciting "American Dream Experience" blog contest.

HelloAmerica.cn will feature a wealth of information on all aspects of traveling to and living in the United States, from visa application information and tips to American culture and attractions. Netizens that visit the site will also have instant access to first-hand accounts from other travelers who have visited the United States, and a communications network that allows them to ask these travelers questions about their unique American experiences.

"American Airlines has been connecting China and the United States through industry leading flight services since 2006," said Victor Lee, Regional Director of Greater China, American Airlines. "And over the past four years, we have had the pleasure of flying a rapidly growing number of first time travelers to the United States, especially university students. We have launched HelloAmerica.cn to provide these travelers with easily accessible information that will help ensure they are well prepared for their maiden voyage to the United States."

To encourage more people to share their American experiences and dreams, American Airlines has opened an interactive "American Dream Experience" blog contest. From March 3 , 2010 until the end of 2010, netizens can post their American dreams blogs on HelloAmerica.cn for their chance to win Business classroundtrip tickets to the United States. Winners will be selected through online voting which will take place in two phases; the first ending June 30 and the second ending October 31. During each of the three month phases, monthly winners will be selected who will move onto the final round of the contest where they could win a trip to the United States with American Airlines.
