Travel document

All necessary travel documents for the countries being visited must be presented at airport check-in, including your valid passport with visa. Normally you have to process the custom/immigration/security check prior to boarding. Please check with local American Airlines representative, or your travel agent, or embassies or consulates to determine the documents required before your departure. Carry-on baggage restrictions

Passengers traveling to the US from any airport in China will be subject to restrictions regarding the carrying of liquids and gels onboard the aircraft.

Carry-on baggage is limited to one small bag and must fit in an overhead compartment or under the seat. Each dimension should be no larger than 22 in/56cm long, 14 in/35cm wide and 9 in/23cm deep/height

No liquids, gels and/or aerosols are permitted Except one clear transparent resealable 1 quart(1 liter) size plastic bag which may contain liquids, gels and /or aerosols in containers of 3 oz.(90ml) capacity or less per container. The contents of the plastic bag must fit comfortably and the plastic bag must be completely closed/sealed and surrendered for screening separate from your carry-on baggage.

You may have the items listed below, but you must declare them to TSA at the screening checkpoint if they are not contained in a clear transparent resealable 1 quart (1 liter) size plastic bag and/or are over 3 oz.(90ml)

  • Baby formula, breast milk, or juice if a baby or small child is traveling.
  • Prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger ticket.
  • Insulin and essential other non-prescription medicines.
Liquids include:
  • Water and other drinks, soups, syrups
  • Creams, lotions and oils
  • Perfumes
  • Sprays
  • Gels, including hair and shower gels
  • Contents of pressurised containers, including shaving foam, other foams and deodorants
  • Pastes, including toothpaste
  • Liquid-solid mixtures
  • Mascara
  • Any other item of similar consistency
