Electronic VISA Application form (EVAF) for French citizens

The volume of visa requests from French nationals for the United States continues to reach high levels. The holders of French machine-readable passports issued on 26th October 2005, will still have to experience long delays if they wish to travel to the United States within the next few months. New biometric passports will soon be available.

In order to process these visa requests in a more sufficient manner, an online service has been created by the US embassy.
This service, called the Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF), allows you to pre-request your visa through the Internet.
This link is available in both French and in English.

This form must be filled in online. Its three pages must also be printed out and shown during the visa application interview.
A bar code on the third page contains all the applicant's data.

Attention, from the 3rd of April 2006, visa requests will only be accepted with the fully completed EVAF form.
This should contribute to speed up the procedure in the interest of all.
