AAdvantage Elite Status


Membership Levels and Benefits
There are four levels of AAdvantage membership so you get a range of benefits however much you travel.

 AAdvantage Gold®

Elite Status Benefits
Elite membership has its privileges, including the following exclusive service and benefits: Elite Qualification Requirement
Earn elite-qualifying points, miles and segments when you purchase eligible fare tickets and fly on American Airlines, American Eagle®, AmericanConnection®, Alaska Airlines (including Horizon Air), British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Finnair, Iberia, LAN Airlines (including LAN Express and LAN Peru), and American Airlines codeshare flights where the ticket reflects an American Airlines coded flight number. And, effective April 1, 2007, Japan Airlines (including Japan Asia Airways, JALways, Japan Transocean Air, JAL Express, and J-Air), LAN Argentina, LAN Ecuador, Malév Hungarian Airlines and Royal Jordanian.

Elite Status Points
The number of AAdvantage points you earn is based on a combination of earned miles and class of service purchased, as follows:

Elite Status Miles or Segments
Qualifying miles or segments are the actual miles or segments you earn on eligible purchased tickets for flights aboard American Airlines, American Eagle, AmericanConnection, AAdvantage participant airlines and/or American Airlines codeshare flights (ticket must reflect an American Airlines coded flight number), including applicable minimum mileage guarantees.
Member must fly at least four segments on American Airlines, American Eagle or AmericanConnection to qualify for AAdvantage Executive Platinum, AAdvantage Platinum or AAdvantage Gold status within the qualifying year. Qualifying miles do not include class-of-service bonus miles, other participant miles or any other AAdvantage bonus mileage. Miles purchased through buyAAmiles and giftAAmiles do not qualify for elite status.

Elite Status Qualification Levels
As we track your activity, we'll notify you when you qualify for membership in one of these premium levels. To qualify for elite status, you must earn the following qualifying miles, points or segments during a calendar year:
