American Airlines Announces Exclusive Sponsorship And Promotions Agreement With The Dallas Cowboys

American Airlines announced an exclusive sponsorship and marketing agreement with the Dallas Cowboys that will run through the 2019 season. The agreement will establish American as the "Official Airline of the Dallas Cowboys" and provide a wide range of marketing and promotional opportunities at both Texas Stadium and the new stadium being built in Arlington, Texas. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"What could be better than a hometown company and the world largest airline partnering with the hometown team and one of the world's most recognized sports brands?" asked David Cush American's Senior Vice President - Global Sales. "American Airlines is thrilled to be associated with America's Team, the Dallas Cowboys and the Jones family. In addition, we greatly anticipate the opening of what will be one of the finest sports venues in the world in 2009, the new Cowboys Stadium.

"The Dallas Cowboys are thrilled to be joining forces with American Airlines for the long haul," said Jerry Jones, Dallas Cowboys Owner and General Manager. "This is an outstanding opportunity for us to partner with a local company that is recognized as a leader in the airline industry, and there is nothing we admire more than the success American Airlines has experienced. This relationship will also enable American to be uniquely involved in our new stadium, currently under construction in Arlington and set to open in 2009. Cush said that American would leverage "All of our products and services within the agreement, including our award-winning Web site, AA.com, as well as the AAdvantage® frequent flyer program, Admirals Club® lounges, American Eagle and more."

Included in the agreement are on-site advertising, marketing and promotions rights, on-site signage and online marketing. Plans are in progress to establish special American Airlines branded areas of the new stadium when it opens. "We have focused more closely on developing affinity marketing opportunities with major sports and entertainment entities in recent months because of the great fit with our customers and our network," said Cush.
