American Airlines Kicks Off October With Special Gift Card Offer to Support Susan G. Komen for the Cure

During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 10 Percent of American Airlines Gift Card Purchase Can Be Designated to Benefit Komen for the Cure

Benefit Komen for the Cure FORT WORTH, Texas, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, American Airlines is inviting consumers to join the fight against breast cancer when purchasing an American Airlines Gift Card. During October, when gift card buyers specify Komen as the beneficiary, American will donate $5 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® for every $50 of travel purchased via the American Airlines Gift Card.

"Now, it's possible to give the gift of travel while supporting Komen for the Cure in its mission to end breast cancer forever. This is just one of the ways we are honoring National Breast Cancer Awareness month at American and we are proud to offer this opportunity for our customers to participate."

American Airlines Gift Cards are available in denominations from $50 to $1,500, and can be applied toward the purchase of any American Airlines, American Eagle or AmericanConnection® published fare. Unlike many gift cards, there is no expiration date.

To purchase gift cards and support Susan G. Komen for the Cure, customers can go to AA.com/giftcard. When completing payment information, "Komen" must be entered in the tracking code box in order for the donation to be made. Gift cards must be purchased by Oct. 31 for the 10 percent donation to be made to Komen and applies only to online purchases.

Customers can purchase either a physical card and have it mailed or have a virtual card delivered via e-mail with a personal message. American Airlines Gift Cards have no expiration date or fees and customers can use up to eight gift cards at one time toward the purchase of airfare to destinations around the world.
