We've changed our look on the outside to reflect the progress we've made on the inside, revealing our new logo and the refreshed exterior of our planes. Now, we're taking the next step in our journey to create the new American.
By combining with US Airways, we plan to create a premier global carrier with an expanded domestic and global network to better match where you want to fly. We also expect to have a greater ability to invest in our fleet, modern technologies, and the products and services you value most, enabling us to bring you the most comfortable and connected travel experience in the industry.

Inspired by our proud past, our new look symbolizes our passion for progress by incorporating the colors and symbols you've come to associate with American.
Reflecting the soaring spirit that is uniquely American, our new logo — the Flight Symbol — contains the eagle, the star, the "A," and refreshed shades of red, white and blue. Together, they represent a clean and modern update to the core icons of our company.
No matter where we are, have been or plan to go, the sky will always be a part of our journey. As we unveil our new look, you'll see that our logo and the refreshed look and feel of our planes is light, vibrant and modern, reflecting the travel experience we aim to bring you.
We're committed to modernizing your travel experience—from updated products and services, to redesigned airport terminals, to new planes and an improved onboard experience throughout the aircraft. We are working toward keeping you comfortable, at ease and connected throughout your journeys with us. In the coming months and years, you will begin to see our transformation across the many moments of your travel experience.
We understand that every detail counts in the world of premium travel, which is why we're transforming the experience for our premium travelers. Whether you're traveling for business or pleasure, our premium experience offers a sense of escape balanced by the benefits and joys of travel. Throughout our dedicated check-in environments, lounges and on board, our team is always working to anticipate your needs in order to exceed your expectations.
The AAdvantage® program is at the heart of your loyalty to American Airlines, and so we are taking this opportunity to refresh our look too. Over the coming months, you'll see our new logo roll out program-wide. While our look may be changing, earning and redeeming miles is still as easy as ever. And you'll enjoy the same excellent service and rewards you've come to expect.
Today marks more than a new look: it's also the beginning of an ongoing transformation that will continue for years to come. From painting new and existing planes every month, to re-envisioning airport experiences and upgrading onboard environments, to the technology and information that will keep you in-the-know, we're rethinking your experience from start to finish. It's a transformation that we want you to be a part of. So keep track of our progress — and tell us what you think at American Airlines on Facebook and @AmericanAir on Twitter.
The new look and feel of our planes is a bold symbol of our origin and our name, while the updated exterior reflects the innovative spirit of modern America. The transformation continues on the inside, as we bring you a more modern, comfortable and connected experience throughout the entire aircraft.
