North America And Caribbean Meal Service

Barbecue Chicken Salad When traveling in Main Cabin on our domestic flights, we understand that you want choice, convenience, and variety when selecting in-flight snacks and meals. We are happy to announce enhancements to our Food For Sale program, including the introduction of fresh Boston Market® sandwiches and salads. See below for more details!

Effective June 1, American Airlines transitioned to cashless cabins on flights within the continental United States, as well as on flights to and from Hawaii, Alaska, and Canada. You will no longer need to carry small bills or change when paying for food, beverages and headsets onboard. For in-flight purchases, we will accept most major credit or debit cards.

Cashless cabins will not be implemented onboard American Eagle and AmericanConnection flights - only cash will continue to be accepted onboard those flights, just as it is today.

*American Eagle and AmericanConnection® are not accepting credit cards at this time.

Expansion of the Food For Sale Program
As of March 1, 2009, American extended its in-flight food-for-sale program to the economy cabin on flights between the U.S. and Central American countries and the Dominican Republic in lieu of the existing complimentary menu service.

Complimentary Main Cabin Food Service
Complimentary meal service is provided in the Main Cabin on Europe, Japan and Haiti flights that depart within traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner meal windows. On flights where only beverages are served, we invite you to visit any of the airport concessions and bring food and beverage purchases on board.

Peanut Allergy
American recognizes that some passengers are allergic to peanuts. Although we do not serve peanuts, we do serve other nut products and there may be trace elements of unspecified peanut ingredients, including peanut oils, in meals and snacks. We make no provisions to be peanut-free. Additionally, other customers may bring peanuts on board. Therefore, we cannot guarantee customers will not be exposed to peanuts during flight and strongly encourage customers to take all necessary medical precautions to prepare for the possibility of exposure.

Complimentary First Class Food Service
COMPLIMENTARY FIRST CLASS DINING SERVICE
Enjoy chef-driven meals and specially-selected wines in First Class on all flights systemwide that have flying times over two hours and that operate within traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner times.
Flat Iron Steak

Complimentary food service is offered in First Class on all flights systemwide that have flying times over two hours and that operate within traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner times. Generally, a snack service will be provided on flights greater than two and a half hours that fall outside of a traditional meal time.

Based on customer feedback, in the morning, we typically offer low-carbohydrate breakfast options to support the demand for more protein. In First Class on our U.S., Caribbean and Mexico breakfast flights and on our transcontinental brunch flights, enjoy flavorful omelets with accompanying breakfast meats and sauces served on the side.

In the afternoon and evening, we also strive to offer a variety of entrées influenced by the market, to suit your tastes.
