I find myself reflecting on the challenges of the past year, but most of all, am grateful that you've given us the opportunity to connect you with friends, colleagues and loved ones throughout the year — especially during the holidays. For 82 years, American has been there for your family, and we look forward to serving you for many years to come.

It is also a time to look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead. Nearly a year ago, we embarked on a restructuring aimed at putting American back on top. While this was a difficult decision, it was not a unique one in our industry, and we have made significant progress by reaching agreements with all of our unions, including our pilots, while also making tremendous strides in all aspects of our performance. With service in the top destinations, the best alliance partners and new aircraft arriving to create the youngest fleet in the industry, every decision we make is with you — our customer — in mind.

I, along with our team of 70,000 people at American, have been working towards providing a renewed customer experience, with the level of service you deserve and expect.

  • New planes are being delivered every month through 2017, more than any other U.S. airline.
  • Added convenience with all-aisle access when traveling internationally in a premium cabin or First Class on transcontinental flights.
  • Nearly 100 percent of our domestic flights will be inflight Wi-Fi enabled by the end of 2012.
  • Admirals Club® lounges are being refreshed and modernized to ease you into your travels.
